So I just realised one of the really odd effects I was getting when binging on cannabinoids may well have been complex focal seizures, and I've had quite a lot of them, as in at least 15. I even was aiming for them at times, obviously not knowing what was actually happening.
:( :? 8(

I liked the feeling at the time although I knew something wasn't quite right. The descriptions of complex and simple focal seizures exactly match what I was experiencing. The most intense was on JWH-018 years back but that only happened once. Had this happen on several of the newer synths though, AB-FUBINACA seems quite potent at inducing it and 2233 was the worst. Obviously this is something I will never repeat, some people have probably died from their first synthetic induced seizure, my odds must be getting pretty slim by now.

a ‘rising’ feeling in the stomach (like the feeling you get on a fairground ride where you 'leave your tummy at the top')
deja vu (feeling like you've 'been here before') or jamais vu (where familiar things seem new)
getting an unusual smell or taste
a sudden intense feeling of fear or joy.
Frontal lobe simple focal seizures may include:

a strange feeling like a ‘wave’ going through the head
stiffness or twitching in part of the body (such as an arm or hand).
...
The person’s consciousness is affected and they may be confused. They might make strange or repetitive movements that have no purpose (called ‘automatisms’). They may wander around, or behave strangely, and they may not be aware of what they are doing.

Anything I now ought to consider in future? (other than to never touch those shitty evil things again)
Am I now at greater risk of random/epileptic/drug induced seizures?

It's cool to see a definition for that type of seizure. I know i've had seizures on synthetic cannabinoids however i was conscious for the seizures! I talked to a few doctors about this and they said it couldn't have been a seizure because i would have been unaware of it.

I remember the most intense one, i took a hit of the bottom of the bag of a blend which had a clump of pure crystal material in the bottom corner that i shrugged at. I soon realized i had no idea how to shift gears in my car, i had no idea where i was and assumed i was in a different state entirely. I soon forgot what driving was and eventually crashed my car into a ditch and entered this insane world comprised of blood and metals. It was some man made hell, composed entirely of cogs and wheels like the internals of a clock, lubricated with a thick red substance. My being was composed of these cogs and the movement of them translated to extreme physical pain throughout my body. I could feel every nuance of a large mechanical structure, as if my entire nervous system had never been human.

The same time this was happening, i was still aware that i was my car in a ditch on the side of the road, my head and left arm were flailing wildly in the manner of a powerful seizure and my left arm was smashing against the door but i couldn't even pretend to know how to make it stop. I just remember feeling like the life of painful mechanical torture was the only life i had ever knew, and that someone was going to find me twitching in my car, half paralyzed and that i would have to bear witness to the whole thing in this state for the rest of my life. It felt like a longer period of time than my existence in total. Maybe i had a focal seizure.

^your car crashing into a ditch must have really grinded your gears. just kidding.

many people freak out on high doses of synth noids my ex girlfriend smoked two bowls out of an apple and within a minute she didn't know where she was and she was screaming my name because she couldn't find me 8( however my ex is definitely not someone who I'd say had a "strength of mind"

dabs ftw

This is something a little different than just a freakout though. Had so many of those.

Come on ADD where are you amateur neuropharmacologists to tell me I'm gonna be ok/braindead?!?

Crashing, sounds just like my experience, except I was sat in an arm chair looking out of a sunny window. I think the set and setting was the only reason I enjoyed it, along with oblivion seeking behaviour.

These types of seizures are uncomfortable but they are not dangerous as long as they do not progress to full blown tonic-clonic seizures. I got struck with them after doing too much PCP as some sort of withdrawal effect or something, lasted about 2 months and happened quite frequently. I went to the doctor and he wanted to prescribe me some anticonvulsant that I declined, saying I definitely did not want any anti-convulsant medication as I thought the problem was going to go away. I asked if I could just skip the medicine and wait and see if it got better. He said that would be ok and that this type of seizure aren't really dangerous to your physical health.

These seizures usually go like this for me:

1. smell / taste of blood
2. wave-like sensation in the head
3. consiouscness impairment similiar to ~75mg intranasal dose of ketamine
4. muscle contraction / relaxation in some wave-like rythmic pattern

Then it suddenly stops. Always only lasts about 5 minutes or less. Feel familiar OP?

Synthetics have caused this for me but only when combined with other drugs, especially dissociatives. With synthetics alone it has never happened though.

I too have spent a large amount of time binging on synthetics.

As for long term damage it differs greatly.

I have read articles describing how small grocery stores were cutting deal with bathtub pharmacists when determining which synthetic to sell (back when more were legal).

I think the common denominator would be decreased effect with similar cannabinoid and a strong marijuana like withdrawl. As with any research chemical the exact side effects are ghastly unknown.

Yeah was more like 30 seconds though and the my hands would go round in circles.

I've now switched to edibles only and never have to go above 2mg for a good effect, it's completely removed the compulsion for more that I always suffered with before and I'm now consuming about 10mg a week compared to 200mg a day.
