I hate school, it's so boring, my physics teacher sits there for the whole period just going on about random shit and not even teaching us anything, my maths teacher is useless, geography bores me, english bores me, and i dont learn shit in history.

It's just so boring and there's nothing i can do. its so plain, the uniform is boring, and very formal, so summer sucks.

The idea of sitting in the same chair at the same desk in the same room for an hour just doesn't appeal to me.. at all.. i would much rather go play guitar or something.

And it's got hair rules, so every person has the same looking hair, its fucking gay.

Just sharing my thoughts.

I assume you're in high school in which case I have to say that yes, high school sucks. Or at least it sucked for me and many others I knew.

I dropped out, and it worked out pretty well for me (I'm in college now, which is way better than high school imo), but it was really hard dropping out and I don't recommend it. For me it was really hard to keep up academic needs as well as social needs once I dropped out, and it really harmed me in a lot of ways. On the flip side, by the time I was 18 I was done with roughly 1.5 years of college. Really it's best to just grit your teeth and deal with all the bullshit there is there. It'll be over in not too long and you'll have a degree, which is a big deal.

If there are community college where you live you could pursue dual enrollment if such a thing is offered. In the US most high schools in cities offer a program in which you can take community college classes instead of high school ones, usually for 1 or 2 of your classes.

Or you could look into attending a different school. In the US there are a lot of schools with no dress code that operate very differently from normal schools. I know pretty much nothing about New Zealand, but going to an alternative school helped a lot of my high school friends graduate.

I truly believe it's parents' responsibility to get their kids good marks in high school, and help them start their path to post-secondary. After that, it's negotiable.

Why the sense of entitlement? From the ages of 14-18, if you lack direction, it doesn't matter how smart you are, you're not going to succeed in high school. The combination of teenage hormones, crappy teachers, and a rigid schedule are not something any teenager is going to voluntarily adhere to.

It is absolutely crucial during this period, that parents are attending every parent-teacher meeting, helping with homework (or hiring a tutor) and keeping on top of their kid's grades.

Hmm...high school sucks, and this is coming from someone who is naturally good at school, and completed two higher education degrees. I'm from the US, and my high school had no sort of uniform-type policy, so I can't really relate there. I'd say just push through it...college is WAY more awesome, since you get to take classes that YOU find interesting and make your own schedule (there are usually tons of options to fill requirements, so you aren't stuck taking something you really hate). You can't put "playing guitar all day" on your resume or CV, so no matter how much it sucks, I'd keep trying. Fuck, being a teenager SUCKS in general...it will get better...stick it out.

i suspect that it s boring for you because you don t understand it.

Do your work in high school - at least enough to get into college - and then go from there.
