Today I had the honor of drinking the "sacred cacti" San Pedro. I have used all usual psychedelic drugs at least a few times each like DMT, LSD, Psylocibin, Ketamine, DXM, 2C-, 25I, Saliva etc. I've used many different research chemicals and pharmaceuticals. I'm diagnosed Manic-Depressive type 2 and I'm on 75mg of Effexor, 900mg Lithium, 2mg Klonopin daily.
I was wandering through a hardware store late on night after a genuinely horrific day and as I walked through the greenhouse I saw out of the corner of my eye a cactus that caught my attention. I read the label and sure enough to my surprise it was a San Pedro. Two actually they were both around 12 inches tall and maybe 7 inches in diameter. I was ecstatic. My only drug connection and cousin had become a heroin addict and I didn't want anything to do with him because i couldn't trust him. So after a 5 month drug dry spell I was surprised and excited to find this rare cactus (I live in Montana) at a hardware store of all places.
I bought a total of four cacti and planted them in pots and let the sit under a grow light for 4 months and they grew around 6 inches. Today was the first real day of spring/summer her and it was absolutely beautiful out not a cloud in the sky and 70 degrees. I had no priorities so I figured this was the perfect day to try Mescaline for the first time. I woke up early (8 am) and began preparing 24 inches. I did the juicing mhethod instead of cooking it. Blended it up with water then strained the goop through a T shirt. The end product was two litres of lime green juice. I hadn't eaten dinner the night before or breakfast so my stomach would be empty. To be honest i was a little skeptical about ingesting Home Depot cacti. There was nothing I could find about where it came from or first hand experiences. I chugged down as much as I could and was glad that it didn't taste as bad as most people say. After I drank a litre though I became very nauseous. I put the rest in the freezer. The nausea stayed for 30 minutes to the point where I was lying by the toilet sweating. I went out on my deck and meditated.
An hour and a half after I drank the juice I noticed a slight change in perception. The trees and mountains seemed to be glowing the wind felt amazing as I sat and wrote my thoughts down. I felt myself being slowly lifted out of this world. I popped three 10 mg Adderall tablets and packed my backpack with my calligraphy pens, paint brushes, many different colors of ink and some thick painting paper. I also threw in some fruit, bear spray, my phone and headphones, cigars, Kratom capsules and a beer. I drove down some back roads with the window down and my dog at my side. Pink and purple streaks of light radiated through my vision. I drove until the road turned into forrest. We started hiking up the mountain where abandoned logging roads weaved in and out of clear cuts and woods. A cigar hung out of my mouth. The aroma and the way the smoke twisted, turned and spiraled in the air was calming and entrancing me which is strange because I'm not a smoker. Time seemed to slip away. I was completely in the moment thinking of nothing but getting higher and higher up the mountain.
I stopped at a few different spots that seemed special, significant and sketched what I saw. It felt natural; my brush seemed to have a mind of its own and it new what it wanted to lay on the paper. I hiked for two hours till I was at the top of the mountain. Then in a small circular clearing in the trees was an easel in the form of a stump. Cushy vibrant green moss on the ground to sit on and a view of the snow capped Rocky Mountain line and beneath it Flathead Lake. They stretched as far as I could see. Raw, untouched natural beauty. I sat down set all my art supplies out and started painting the landscape. This is 3 hours after I drank the San Pedro and I was peaking. I saw tracers of pink and purple. As I focused on the mountains they seemed to have doubled in size. I could see every detail in the snow and trees. I was so focused on my painting I lost track of time. I sat in the same spot for 2 hours. I took 15 Borneo green capsules and packed up. The sun was setting at this point and I needed to get to my truck before dark. The effects lasted 2 hours after I made it home leaving me in a blissful mood. I continued to paint and write about my experience.
This trip was very weak compared to all the other psychedelics I have used but it was smooth and enlightening. I would compare it to a gram and a half of mush. But unlike every other LSD or mushroom trip I've been on there wasn't a single moment of anxiety or fear with Mescaline. It slowly lifted me up, cradled me and gently let me down. I hope this helps anyone who has questions about San Pedro bought from unexpected garden or hardware stores. Next time I take it I will use another method of preparing it so I don't have to drink so much. Great first experience. Be safe. Peace.
