A friend of mine mentioned she had some Salvia (regular leaves) saved from a couple years ago. She thought it had gone bad but I told her I thought Salvinorin-A was pretty stable and that we should smoke some
So, I was stoned from cannabis and on the tail end of some 2C-B, and I packed up my bubbler. I ended up packing about 3 bowls of the Salvia, each of which was consumed in about 2 hits. I smoked it over a period of about 30 minutes, yet it seemed like each hit built upon the last hit regardless of how long I waited in between hits. I believe I was building reverse tolerance to Salvia during the session.
I did not intend to break-through to full Salvia craziness during this session. After my one and only true breakthrough I really have no desire to go back.
My girlfriend and my friend who brought the Salvia were present during this session. My girl smoked 1 bowl and my other friend smoked 1 bowl as well.
1st rip:
I got really stoned in a heavy way. Ok, this stuff is definitely still good.
2nd rip:
A little stoneder.
3rd rip:
Now I was zoning out a bit. I noticed that it felt good / natural to stare at my leg, which was crossed over my lap. My leg took on a sharp and brighter appearance. The music I was listening to was enhanced, and seemed to be more connected to my train of thoughts.
4th rip:
The G-Forces are starting to build. Most Salvia smokers probably know what I mean when I say there is a force which feels like it is physically pulling you in a certain direction. At this point I was pretty confused, and not really able to have a normal conversation with the people around me. Nor was I really trying to, because it felt better / more natural to stare at my leg, which continued to fascinate me as I listened to the music. I noticed a mild mood-lift but far from "euphoria". I really enjoyed this part of the experience because it felt like I was basking in the sunlight which seemed focused on my leg.
5th rip:
Whoa... the "force" is getting strong! A friend described this as "swimming against a current" and this is very much what it felt like. It felt like invisible hands were grabbing all parts of my body and pulling me upwards. I felt a strong pulsing sensation that accompanied this, and it was very intense. It was a bit uncomfortable actually. I knew that if I closed my eyes and relaxed I would probably be propelled into crazy salvia land, but it seemed that I could maintain a consistant resistance... that is, swimming upstream fast enough to get completely washed away. I was totally fucked at this point, but fairly lucid in my head. So I just decided to sit there and stare at the wall until that died down a little bit.
6th rip:
Well, I had to finish the bowl
Not very much was left though and it hardly did anything.
.....
Basically a sub-breakthrough dose of Salvia is like experiencing strange G-forces and feeling like you're existing in a parallel universe although you can't quite see it.
If I would have smoked another big rip right after the 4th rip I surely would have seen it though.
I experienced some visuals, mostly perspective shifts and shifts in light intensity. I have had much more visuals on Salvia before but I didn't feel like getting washed upstream into the full experience would have been pleasant at that time, and I really was right on the edge.
I could see how someone with less psychedelic experience could easily flip out and run around out of control if they experienced the effects I did. Salvia is not really for messing around with, and it can take you all the way unexpectedly. Lucky for me (since I didn't want a "breakthrough") I have experience maintaining sub-breakthrough doses.
Be careful though... a sub-breakthrough dose can easily turn into a breakthrough dose when the Salvia causes it to feel "good / natural" to pack another bowl. Seriously. It is some weird shit.
