Safe combo? Cyclobenzaprine and/or tizanidine with tramadol

According to an online drug interactions checker (easily found via google) the only issue to pay attention to is an increase in sedation from mixing the cyclobenzaprine with Tramadol.

I think it should be OK. Did you check with your doctor? The only problem I can see arising is due to cyclobenzaprine having some effect on serotonin, which might interact with Tramadols SNRI effect, though honestly i'm not sure.

On an unrelated note, how are you doing with your PO? Did you follow up on what happened with him taking your pills?

^ this is a good point. The combination of cyclobenzaprine with tramadol can produce seizure or serotonin syndrome in sufficient doses. Cyclobenzaprine is very similar to the TCA's which are contraindicated with tramadol (or they at least recommend patient monitoring). If you're taking low doses and/or tolerant to either or both it probably won't be a problem but given tramadol's effect on the seizure threshold and how cyclobenzaprine will further reduce this, I'd be very careful.

The only thing I'd be concerned with is the interaction between serotonin like Cane and nAON had mentioned before. I've had serotonin syndrome from mixing doxylamine succinate, buprenorphine, and DXM. It was one of the worst expiriences of my life and I truly feared for my life.

Thanks everyone! I'll skip that med then. I already have the seizure/SS risk bc of Effexor so I don't wanna add to that.
nAON, I talked to the director who said it wasn't documented and now she won't return my calls. The idiot himself is suppose to be comin out this comin week to see me since I'm still in a cast. I guess I'll see what is mentioned then. Probably nothin. Like all "good" corrupt assholes, I'm expectin nothin to happen to him.

I forgot you're on Effexor - you shouldn't be taking Tramadol at all!

^^^ Yeah I know Pjkt. What can I say? "Special" docs...
I barely ever take the Tram anymore. Like once in the past week or two bc of this risk. I gotta really, really be havin ankle pain to even consider it.
And I haven't quite been takin my Effexor :X It doesn't do shit anyway.

I mix all three, but I have been on everything but the zanaflex for years. I have had no adverse reactions and am also on neurontin. Ask your Doc about your mix specifically cause everyone is different.
