Safe ammount of acetaminophen?

Not sure if this belongs here, but I know that people here probably do know this, and since it's for a psychedelic purpose, here I go!

Is 5 grams of acetaminophen safe? (5000mg)
 
This isn't relevant to psychedelics...

"Paracetamol toxicity is the foremost cause of acute liver failure in the Western world, and accounts for most drug overdoses in the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia and New Zealand."

"Signs and symptoms of paracetamol toxicity may initially be absent or vague. Untreated, overdose can lead to liver failure and death within days."

...apparently, if you want to murder your liver, you should take 15 grams.
 
The label on the bottle of tylenol sitting in front of me seems to indicate a maximum daily intake of four (4) grams.
 
5gs will probably be pretty safe aslong as your liver is in ok condition and you're not drinking alcohol with it..
 
Four grams in 24 hours is the recommended maximum but as a one-off five grams probably won't do you in. I was initially going to close this thread as the question has been answered and has nothing to do with psychedelics, but am intrigued as to what this "psychedelic purpose" you speak of is, Winner. Therefore, I'll leave it open till my curiosity is satisfied :)

4g is the max safe dose in 24hrs, but I believe the LD50 is around 6-10g. Either way, it's not recommended, but you will be OK if it's not a repeated thing.

Tylenol makes you trip balls, you didn't know that?? =D
 
No I won't be taking only this, but it's the only other active ingrediant along with the dextromethorphan, and 5,200 mg to be exact is how much of the acetaminophen will be consumed and most likely the only time I will be taking dxm with any other active ingredient so not a usual thing- one time thing.

So, non-fatal? Thank you guys!

edit: even if tylenol did make you trip balls which I doubt it would I'm not the kind of person who would do that, or go and take abunch of unknown OTC pills which are most likely deliriants because "i heard from a friend it makes you trip sooo hard meng!" Just clearing the air..
 
Ahh but I already got this, didn't think it would be a big deal... :( Aslong as it's not going to fuck over my overall health I think it should be fine? But in the future I'll make sure to get dxm only :>

Maybe just a confirmation that it won't fuck up my health, then a close? :D
 
Also, you could do a cold-water extraction, right? From what I understand, APAP doesn't dissolve in water, but DXM HBr does. Personally I haven't done this though, so someone correct me if I'm wrong.
 
If for some reason you need to take that much tylenol, maybe take a bunch of NAC with it. Its the antidote for tylenol poisoning (+ a million other great uses). I'm not sure if there are any DXM interactions though.
 
Probably not especially safe or healthy IMO. Its better to err on the side of caution when it comes to your liver I reckon...:) Just get a DXM only source...
 
Ehhh, I keep forgetting about basic drug disccusion, sorry guys. But yeah, I won't do it I'll just get a dxm only thing.
