Ruins

I knew you'd gone and left this place when I could no longer see your eyes,
Even knowing, I searched for you still, unwilling to unfetter these ties.
That morning I awoke unable to breath, I knew then,, you couldn't wake,
Dismissing the long lost delirious joys, you chose the other path to take.

Twins, soul mates, true loves they are never our decision to consider,
And when we meet we hope but ne'er know just what life will deliver.
Like the very structures of our bodies organs blood, flesh covering bone,
Can mirrors of our dreams be shattered, and grief transform us to stone.

Weren't ever considered a 'couple' because no one ever really knew,
Of this magical spell we mastered, and upon it's strength we grew.
Distance and seasons passage, years travelled, full moon to wane,
Nothing nor no one could intrude on our rainbow of happiness and pain.

Tracking one another's invisible trails although long since grown cold,
Over and over again reaching one another the seduction ne'er grew old.
Senses tuned to the finest of frequency's, no doubts could intercept,
Telepathic wiring from a higher plain that others just couldn't accept.

I can still see in my minds eye your love filled smile just for me,
Snuffed out by the poison you took, our lives had turned to catastrophe.
Some say you move on but I won't move, I'm a statue, refusing repair,
Consumed by a jealous quiet rage that you left me here to care.

Here where there's no sight or sound and all the magic gone,
Where no one understands me and no good is ever born.
Wishing but knowing, no more nights hearing your laughter,
That nothing will get better and this is 'our happy ever after'.
