I was goin to post why there is so few posts about opiates washing testosterone levels to near preteen levels but saw on a post about MU receptors being ruined from extreme opiate use. When blues started flooding the southwest to the point of cost nearly not being an issue for anyone that can hold a job, I know someone for several years where using 40-100 of them a day (blues) and never nods, rarely feels any euphoria or even positive emotions like early days of real prescription opiates but letting themselves get to close to wd is horrific !! So could , if damaged , MU receptors recover or is it likely that person may rarely or possibly never feel happiness after getting clean ?

This is good question. I am on opiates for more than a decade and i use only not to feel wd. These days, something interesting happened but i used a lot of modafinil too, i used much smaller amounts and this morning after LONG sleep i woke up without any wd. Still, that psychological cravings are here. On my opinion, brain will heals but it may take a long time (years maybe)

Exact thing happen to Me last week after taking a full xanex , I slept 14 hours and when I woke up, I felt like I had reset. .lol no WD and very clear headed . Should have pushed on but didnt .

I don't think so. I've been on multiple opioids over 10 years and still get high. Just got a crazy tolerance now

Question is , do think if damaged, your MU receptors will allow you to enjoy life again after getting clean?

I don't know, but i feel, it won't be possible to be as happy as before the damaged was done

More likely to fuck up pain perception and mood too but less so. Mu receptors aren't really meant to regulate mood so much as pain. It's possible that endorphins would never feel good again, so you'd lose your drive to do exercise.
