You ever hear of a speed ball? It's well known that stimulants and opioids are synergetic. The classic one is morphine/heroin and cocaine.

Opioids don't directly release dopamine by the way. All recreational drugs cause an increase in dopamine transmission in the nucleus accumbens. In the case of opioids, MOR receptor agonism within the VTA area of the brain inhibits GABA release. GABA is the main inhibitory neurotransmitter, so by inhibiting release of the inhibitor, stimulation occurs causing an increase in dopamine and glutamate release in the NAcc.
