Stimulants ritalin making me tired

Is the first time you've taken it? Sometimes different stimulants just effect people differently.

I see. It could be that you have more of a tolerance now and aren't getting the full spectrum of effects. Or maybe you're tired to the point that it's not staving off fatigue.

That was years ago though. It made me almost calm and at peace. People commented on it to, I'm usually pretty amped and overexcited

It is called a paradoxical effect and happens with some people. Just like SSRIs have been known to make some patients *more* suicidal, ie doing the exact opposite of what they're supposed to do.

We still really have very little understanding of the complex interactions of various chemicals with an individual brain. Which is why most psychopharmaceutical treatments can be very hit-and-miss (positive effect, neutral = zero effect, negative effect all possible).

Have you been diagnosed with ADHD or had this reaction with other stimulants?

I have not been diagnosed i used about 10 years ago but much higher dosages, starting at 30 XR adderal and had a much more talkative jittery feeling. Maybe I just started way too high. Yesterday i took 15 mg of adderal IR and had the same reaction as i did with ritalan today, just less sleepy.
