So I started taking risperidone in September 2019 and it worked fine. In fact it induced mania and motivation article here. I decided to stop taking it during the pandemic in May 2020 to get my sex drive but then when I went back on it, I only felt fatigue and amotivation. I've stopped taking it.

I've read online suggested that it could be these two things.

1.) Change of antidepressants. From Sept 2019 to Feb 2020 I was on Trintellix/Brintellix (vortioxetine) and switched to Lexapro (escitalopram). I've read that a combination of vortioxetine and risperidone can increase dopamine/mania in some pathways.

2.) Brand of risperidone. Before the pandemic, I was taking the red 'Risperidone Accord' tablets which were 0.5mg. I then switched to the 1mg.

Yeah look, you’ve answered it yourself I think.

The change of medication is the likely culprit in this case. Best to speak to your Dr though if you think you need something now instead and pose the question to them also.

To be honest I never felt much of anything from risperidone and I was on 2mg

Olanzapine made me way more of a zombie

Just my chemistry

All risperdol ever did for me was make me slow and dumb. They had me with a biweekly injection of 512mg and pills i was supposed to take also. In connecticut they would watch me take the pills to make sure I swallowed them. Fuck up shit. I mean other side effects but it blocked dreaming and my internal monologue. GOt that back, but psychiatry still insists I take antipsychotics (invega shots). There are better drugs out there than what you can get with a prescription.
