i heard tha XANAX and other benzos are "minor traquilizers" ,i read that risperdal was a "major" tranquilizer,so does this mean it would be better/more funthan xanax/others like it??

From Rxlist.com
Risperidone is an antipsychotic agent belonging to a new chemical class, the benzisoxazole derivatives. The chemical designation is 3-[2-[4-(6-fluoro-1,2-benzisoxazol-3-yl)-1 -piperidinyl]ethyl]-6,7,8,9-tetrahydro-2-methyl-4H-pyrido[1 ,2-a]pyrimidin-4-one. Its molecular formula is C23H27FN4O2 and its molecular weight is 410.49.
It slows dopamine, seretonin, and several other receptor systems (just less potently). According to the pharmokenetics section of Rxlist.
Xanax, and other chemicals of that nature are benzodiazepine class. They slow the CNS and are "downers".
These two drugs work totaly differently from each other and should not be compared.

I cant think of any antipsychotics that would be any fun EVER.
Most of the older ones so great things like make you drool and become catanonic, the newer ones only make parts of your body tick like someone with Tourettes.

I was on them in low doses for a while, they werent fun...
If anyone knows a way to make them fun i would love to know it cause i still have a box

My brother takes Risperdol for autism. Definitely not a fun drug to take. I took 3mg once to see what it was all about. I slept for like 16 hours, then I felt scattered for about a day after. I had no energy. Plus, when I jerked off the next day, no semen came out even though I "finished". Very weird. It took two days for my man nector to return. I would leave that shit alone.

Yes like I said, it is not the same as a benzo like Xanax. Those depress the CNS (Central Nervus System) and make you feel relaxed and maybe a bit drowsy and high. Risperdol fucks with the seretonin and dopamine your receptors receive. This can be extremly mood altering and fuck up your head in general. Unless your perscribed it, DON'T TAKE IT. And it has ZERO recreational value.

I was prescribed this and it is somewhat like a downer. I used it for overwhelming anxiety beyond what an anti-anxiety medication could help with. Risperdal makes you slow down mentally and you fell emotionless. This can be a good thing and a bad thing. The good part about it is that it helps as an as needed med for me when I truly anxious.

I cant remember from when i took it...
How long does it take to work and whats the half life like?
Eg. is it like a SSRI that takes time and many doses to get into your system, or just a quick in and out like panadol etc...

Risperdal sucks I took 1 mg pills for a month or so. It just makes you feel nothing. Like everyone else said it is an anti-psychotic. It works after an hour or so. It sucks though all I did was sleep. It is supposed to slow down overactive thought processes. I just don't see how one drug(Risperdal) was prescribed to me to reverse the effects of another drug(LSD). So I quit taking it.

You were prescribed Risperdal specifically to negate the effects of LSD? How in the hell did that happen?

two words: tardive dyskenesia
and because i'm thinking that if you had to ask this question in the first place, you probably will have no clue about what i'm referring to... tardive dyskenesia is uncontrollable ticking and spasming of muscles (brought on by use of heavy anti-psychotics in a person that is either reactive to it, or who does not NEED it)...
be well.

TD isn't that likely for an in-frequent user, and it's rarely a chronic condition..

risperdal basically turns off the on switch in your brain. i found a small dose to be good at the end of a long nite of trippin.
