i've read that dxm helps with opiate tolerance, been taking opiates for over a year now and i'm up to taking up to 200mg's oc's a day or banging 5 4mg dilaudids a day, i want to cut back and lower my tolerance because this is getting too much, also what would the proper way to taper off the dilaudid's i'm getting 30 more and thats it, i will not find this again, i want to avoid the withdrawals and lessen it, what would be the best way for me to taper of if i'm up to five a day and only have 30 left? thanks.

I totally agree with 'blah'. I've been taking darvon for over 14 years now (legally). I can't catch a buzz on it until I take 6 (65mg hcl) caps. Every now and then I stop the routine and don't take any at all until the witdrawal signs begin, and then I only take 2 caps at a time. Usually a week of this will take me to the point where I can totally stop for a while. Then I begin again with 4 caps and can catch the same buzz that six were giving me. It's a cycle that works well. I can also cut back to 3 caps if I extract it and bang it thru an IM.
