Hey folks, just got myself some Restoril 30 mg caps and Tylenol 3's to help me ween off a small smoked H habit....W/D symptoms are starting to kick in, and I just took 60 mg orphenadrine citrate about 1 hour ago...I usually dose my antihistamine about 1.5 hours prior to taking my opioid, though with orphenadrine it takes a bit longer to kick in than with diphenhydramine.

Anyhow, I was wondering what a good temazepam dosage would be to combine with 90 mg of codeine at the 1.5 hour mark? Normally I would just pop 1 30 mg cap, but in the past I have had to take 50 mg to even feel something (temazepam is quite unpredictable in my experience).

So, what would be the ideal temazepam dosage to help minimize w/d symptoms while simutaneously boosting the codeine? I'm not trying to quit cold turkey here, just weening down with codeine which helps a lot with physical symptoms. Thanks ahead of time guys/girls!

Peace

Ended up taking 15 mg temazepam alongside 3 Tylenol 3's...the orphenadrine citrate helps a lot with itching, but I think 60 mg was too little...gonna go with 80 mg next time, 100 mg just has too many side effects (most notably the dry mouth).
From what I have read about temazepam on multiple forums is that temazepam has a dose dependent type of effects profile...unlike most benzodiazepines which are fairly predictable (the more you take the better, the stronger, the better...as you would think is the case with most drugs). But I have read that sometimes 15 mg feels stronger than 30 mg...or something along those lines. Then I have heard that if you are taking just temazepam alone, you need to take 50-90 mg of temazepam to get a real nice buzz. And then anything above that seems to be redundant...so there is a noticeable effects ceiling.

Anyways, I will say that my 3-drug combo is working out rather nicely right now at T+ 1:45. I feel very relaxed from the 15 mg temazepam, the 90 mg codeine is keeping all W/D symptoms at bay (though there was mild gastrointestinal discomfort up until T+1:00. Codeine seems to take about 30 minutes to hit, and then at 1 hour the effects begin plateauing.

Good thing about only taking 60 mg orphenadrine is that the dry mouth side effect is much less noticeable than with 100 mg orphenadrine. But at the same time, I feel that 60 mg orphenadrine doesn't cause the amount of CNS depression that I desire (gonna try and find that balance eventually). I have been raving a lot about orphenadrine in recent posts, and IMO it is superior to diphenhydramine in many regards (both as an antihistamine/muscle relaxant/opioid potentiator).

Although diphenhydramine is more potent and has stronger CNS effects, the buzz feels very cloudy and rather morbid...especially with 50 mg or higher. Not to mention, diphenhydramine leaves me with a groggy hangover ( generally it's much more sedating than orphenadrine, but in a bad way....kind of like the sedation one get's from amitriptyline (Elavil).
If you are a Canadian codeine user, go to your local pharmacy and ask for OrfenAce...it's OTC and quite inexpensive. Orphenadrine is great for muscle cramps, back pain, and other physical symptoms that accompany opioid withdrawals.
