Hi,

I'm just getting into research chemicals but I don't have the money right now to get a good milligram scale. My hope is to get a cheap milligram scale and then make it into a solution to be more accurate. I was wondering if this method would work for most phenethylamines and tryptamines. Would there be certain ones that I couldn't make solutions for? And I've heard of using a water/vodka mix as a solvent, would this lengthen the list of chemicals I could make into solutions?

2C-*s, at least, are great to put in solution. They are incredibly stable, so you can put them in solution and store them for months, even years, in a drawer at room temperature with no significant degradation. Some other compounds are less stable in solution and may need to be stored in the freezer like acid.

Yes, solutions will definitely help with dosing accuracy. If you do it properly, you can basically take a known amount and divide it down as small as you want without increasing the measurement error. You probably wouldn't even need a cheap milligram scale if you're measuring at least a gram - a 10mg scale would be fine or even a .1g scale if it's not a super dose dependent material or if you have at least a couple grams of material.

This should probably be merged to the liquid measurement and dosing megathread.
 
You can get a milligram scale for under $100. How do you get your hands on tryptamines and phenethylamines for less than $100?!

Scales are cheap dude.
 
^i think the OP was talking about a good milligram scale. He planned to buy a cheap milligram scale.

I have a cheap milligram scale, but it works pretty well, though I have to weigh things several times to ease my mind
