I take 3-5mg Klonopin daily for anxiety and sleep. (I also take 1g methocarbamol and 10-20mg Ambien near bedtime). I have headaches, but 100-150mg butalbital plus the other stuff makes me feel intoxicated and somewhat morose most of the time and somehow it is not calming enough to replace the Klonopin.

Would it be possible to replace the Klonopin with Mebaral(mephobarbital) successfully? And would any doctor write for this? And does anyone have experience with Mebaral and a comparison with butalbital and/or Klonopin?

It is possible to get Mebaral to replace the Klonopin, but it would likely have MORE side effects than the Klonopin. I'm very upset at the lack of information on mephobarbital, but it's very similar to phenobarbital in its effects.

The best advice is to talk with your doctor about it. You can get an idea of something on the internet, but its best left to your doctor. Probably not what you wanted to hear, but it's the best advice nonetheless.
