Open Discussion Reconsider Chemistry Forum?

After talking with several people as well as looking around elsewhere, I feel this place would be perfect to have some good chemistry discussions. That said I understand the need to keep the heat off..

Is there any chance of a reconsideration? Lots of brilliant minds here and I’ve got notes piling up that I must share ;)

I would be very interested in a forum about chemistry. Some of the ones that used to be active aren't being posted on anymore. If the no-sourcing rule was enforced I don't think it would cause any problems. A lot of people already discuss this on parts of the site anyway. Most of this stuff is going to fly over the head of people that would do any harm with the information. I would even argue that this is HR.
 
That’s where my head is at, some of the notes I’d like to share would definitely save people the trouble. Especially my no-A/B 6-monobenzoylmorphine synthesis starting with poppy pods, so easy a monkey can do it, no dangerous chemicals, and you know without a shadow of a doubt your not about to ingest fentanyl. If that ain’t HR idk what is...

Beyond that, purification of substances would by default get more conversation surrounding them.

We could moderate/delete any dangerous info to ensure people aren’t hurting themselves with the information.

I've been thinking about a mix of 6monobenzoyl/6monopropionyl morphine heptanoate as a "heroin depot" as the propionic and benzoyl analogs are long lasting maybe the heptanoate salt makes it even longer lasting.just something I want to look into.

I think Reddit is the only place allowing open discussion of these chems in question
 
We had a good group on fb about psychedelic chemistry. (~10000 members) then it never relocated here. I’m currently making moonshine and would love people to talk to.

Me too brother! Made me some triple distilled banana ‘shine a month back that made me realize just how impure most of the crap you buy at the store is.. Right now I can only do really small batches though..

I’ve not experience with the propionyl ester but your right the benzoyl definitely has a longer lasting effect compared to the acetyl ester.

These drugs could make good maintenance substances. I’ve felt that about the benzoyl ester at least because it doesn’t undergo hydrolysis as fast as the acetyl and it has higher lipophlicity. These two combined give it an excellent oral BA from my experience making it less of a need to use more addictive routes.

I would love to hear more about that, but as luck would have it, I decided not to grow any more poppies this year. Bugger...

Hoping mine are doing ok, last I checked some deer ate a few but for the most part they were looking good. Kept a few back home in a pot and indeed like ya’ll said they just aren’t really growing much.

PM me if you’d ever like the details in the future. Although idk if you need a highly potent heroin analog laying around do ya? ;)

i got a small batch multi grain (corn, malted barley, sugar) mash ready to distill. And it turns out so much better than store bought liquor🐾
 
Homebrewing is a fine hobby indeed, which is legal in most jurisdictions and something many of us gainfully partake in. Rightly or wrongly, however, discussion relating to the speculative chemical synthesis of RCs, analogues and all the other kinds of illicit goodies most of you probably have in mind sits on a completely different level. There's likely a good reason many of the more well-known sites that hosted such discussion are no longer with us.

I think quite a few of us would be glad to read more thoughts and input on this from all fronts, but bear in mind that ultimately, given BL's mission, focus on drugs HR, and desire to stay, uh, online, such a request may inevitably prove impossible to fulfil.
 
We focused on inorganic chemistry in grad school. That would be ok to discuss but bl is a harm reduction forum so just chem not drug chem. I still like to know improvements on drug synth and characterization for when it’s legal to study the effects of schedule I.
