Recommend me something for a very DARK trip

In a few months, I'm going to take some LSD (between 2 and 4 hits), and compose a story throughout the trip. The story in question will be about a bad, or at least very dark, acid trip at an extreme dose. Don't want to go into too much more detail out of paranoia that someone will steal the idea, because I have some pretty cool stuff planned for the night. One of those things though will be music, played through surround sound speakers the whole time, ranging from classical to ambient to electronic to jazz to metal to experimental.

Please recommend me some music!

I'm especially after electronic music, since I already have a playlist packed full of post-metal. It needs to be really moody, dreamlike, and most importantly, dark as sin. Here's a list of artists I'm already using:

Aes Dana
Dark Suns
Dead Can Dance
Floating Me
Green Carnation
Guilt Machine
Have a Nice Life
Hybrid
Indukti
Isis
Juno Reactor
Katatonia
The Kilimanjaro Darkjazz Ensemble
Minsk
Nine Inch Nails
Pink Floyd
Riverside
Ulver
Uneven Structure

Thanks for your help.

psytrance:
almost the whole "Scizoeffective" album by The Delta should fit perfectly (especially The Thing and Pop)
also
X-Dream - Psychomachine
Auricular - Pilzvergiftung
Etnoscope - Metalixir
or if it should be a little more intense
Scatterbrain - Possessed

progressive psytrance:
Onionbrain!
Necton - There Ain't No Answers
and almost the whole zenon records stuff

goa trance:
Chi-A.D. - Pathfinder
Juno Reactor - Rotorblade
Sandman - End of the World
MFG - On Mars
Sonic Fusion - Tribal Warrior
and maybe
Miranda - Gnocchi (but that one is a bit harder)

drumnbass: (not so dreamlike but definitely dark)
Eye-D - Unicorn MF (BSE Remix)
and maybe BSE - Arrakis

I bet post-metal will be fucking transcendental! I hope you have some neurosis, amen ra, and mouth of the architect on that playlist. Some electronic stuff id recommend:

amon tobin (ISAM has the most ethereal rhythm and song design)
bohren un der club de gore

just search for dark psy trance on youtube, its a pretty established genre of its own and sounds like what you are looking for. Some videos come with some nice visuals too, like this!

The Leak Bros have some nice dark psychedelic hip hop with a bunch of electronica samples you might like. Although they're really all about the pcp and not as much lsd (although one of the mcs from the band put out an album recently called acid tab vocab you might want to check out)

the chemical brothers are good too, not always dark but good for dancing your pants off.

Death Cube K - Buckethead's dark ambient project. Really fucking creepy

the orb - just chill ambient if you need a calm down

perhaps menace ruine? Their record label calls them black metal but they mainly use synths. THe female vocalist is fucking enthralling and in general spooky as hell. And their lyrics are very psychy.

check their latest album out, alight in ashes

cheers! Sending good vibe your way!

I really enjoy 'dark' music when tripping.

Not sure I'd consider these to be dark per se, but see what you think. Just a few, increasing in intensity.

Phaeleh - Numb - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2UPEnUmK1sQ

Anything by Burial. For example, Burial - Archangel - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IlEkvbRmfrA

Jakob - Malachite - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XFAQa3HlYYw

Rex - Evil Buddha Comb - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qWQGrjLjJwI

Abdomin Burst - Epinephrine Burst (Hedflux Remix) - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mX8xQCuRWM4

Meshuggah - Do not look down - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUuXiAsV7BQ

Meshuggah - Perpetual Black Second - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7quzcdVTpEM

Surprisingly, I think the Rex track is the darkest of the lot. The bass is crazy and his percussion is just wonderful. Listened to it a few times on 2-CE, LSD, and 6-APB. The common thread amongst all the tracks is groove. The groove may in fact negate a great deal of the darkness. These tracks are all so funky, but they can send you off into a wonderfully dark little spiral.

Excellent, that's a great list for me to get through and I have 5 months to find the right artists. So the music front is on track. :) Thanks for your help everyone and keep it coming if there are any more.

One thing I've found is that if it sounds too much like a dance track, i.e. if it has a constant beat (doon-doon-doon-doon-doon-doon) through the whole song, it doesn't really fit this project because it doesn't feel like a narrative piece; however, those songs are good in and of themselves so thanks also for those recommendations.

The comment regarding beat is very, very helpful. You need to look into classical music ...

Try Igor Stravinsky's Rites of Spring. The final movement is supposed to be particularly interesting. I've included the link to wiki for details. As for the version, have a hunt on youtube and find the one to your taste.

Other than that, maybe Elgar's cello concerto (the Jacqueline du Pre version).

Have a look into the background of Jacqueline du Pre. There is a whole lot of darkness there. Hope these are interesting. You can thank my wonderful lady, a grade 8 vocalist and former opera singer :-)

I find the album "Twentythree" by Carbon Based Lifeforms to be a good soundtrack for tripping. I am not sure I would call its atmosphere "dark", possibly "cold" and "emotionally void" would be more fitting adjectives. It induces a very strange, "inhuman" mood in me.

Going further down the ambient road, check out Raison d'Etre. It does not really have a psychedelic feel to it IMO, and I certainly never felt inclined to put it on while tripping, but it is most definitely dark ;)

No serious, if you don't have Boards of Canada in your playlist you're doing it wrong.

if you want a very dark trip you should definitely throw a shit load of mushrooms into the mix and sit down and watch 'the wall' if you haven't already. And listen to music the rest of the trip. The darkest trips ive had were with dissociatives, especially when used with antihistamines.

definitely have to second boards of canada, shit freaks me out sometimes when i'm tripping too hard.

definitely going to listen to some leak bros now, nice shit. and some cage, damn that really opened my mind to some underground hiphop i forgot about, thx to whoever posted that shit.
