Recommend me a movie

So I'm one of those guys that gets sucked in to movies when I'm high, it's really just something I love to do. (I know there are quite a few people who can't stand watching movies when they're baked.)

My question is this, what movie should I watch after my 6 month probationary break from smoking cannabis?

Currently, I think I'm going to rent each Back to The Future movie, smoke a few bowls throughout the night, and just have a great time.

I've never watched any of these movies, but they're my Dad's and Brother's favorite movie to watch when sober or high.

Still, I'm open to all suggestions. Any genre and any length, I'm not really picky ;D.
 
Eraserhead.

Of course, I've never seen it. I plan to watch it high with my friends soon (along with Mullholland Drive 8o) and see if I literally go insane.



If you're not looking for something that will make you break down and cry, go for Shoot 'em Up. Its the most outrageous action movie I've ever seen, and regardless of how bad it is it will always hold a special place in my heart. Wanted is a "better" (technically :p) movie that has the same ridiculous action movie feel. In fact, the first time I smoked I saw wanted and literally could not speak.

The Matrix, 'specially the one where he meets the architect. That whole scene is overwhelmingly mind-blowing when blazed. (and the action, of course, is badass too)

Fantastic Planet, an indie movie that is apparently awesome and trippy as hell. Pink Floyd the Wall, based on you can guess what, is supposed to be good.

When I'm high I can understand (mostly, lol) and appreciate almost any movie. Thus, I like to watch new shit all the time when I'm baked, whether its good or not lol! I watched Big Daddy the other day after a good sesh, totally forgot how good that was! Anyways personally I like to watch just about any comedy or horror movie, the cheesier the better

If you happen to be ending a probationary break from opiates I recomend
"Drug Store Cowboy"

"Apocolypse Now Redux Version" Seems to go good with hash for some reason

Man from earth - good text for high school english / good movie
Children of Men - Awesome movie
Inside man - Good movie
Good thief - Great movie
Getting Square - one of the few decent aussie movies
 
Into the Wild - great movie, very powerful, based on a true story

Action:
  • i second The Matrix - the first one is best IMO
  • Layer Cake - might be abit hard to understand if you watch it for the 1st time high though.
  • Transformers 1st or 2nd one take your pick
  • Collateral - sick action scenes
  • Pulp Fiction - sorta counts as both an action and a comedy (the scene in the car is hilarious)


Funny:
  • The Life of Brian - monty python
  • Madagascar
  • Freddy got Fingered - tom green
  • Napoleon Dynamite
  • Shaun of the Dead


Dumb/Funny Stoner:
  • Smiley Face - My favourite movie to watch blazed
  • Grandma's Boy
  • Harold & Kumar go to White Castle - abit cliche i know

Hope i've given you some ideas
 
Pineapple Express, hands down. Ain't no other stoner movies worth watching if you're as discriminate as me with movies that actually make sense.
 
I'd have to second "Chldren of Men." too

Also an anime movie called "Street Fight" illustratated by the same guy who did the hobbit movie (Bakari?).

Last but not least "Heavy Metal" while were talking animated films. Alittle shrooms and thai sticks are probably in order too.

Also the BBC movie "Threads" if you can find it, that is.

Hmmm I watched that a few times (sober & high) wasnt that great as far as stoner movies go.

Iv watched alot of better ones. If your looking for a comedy to watch high, I watched Ace Ventura cause i remembered how much I loved it when I was a kid some things were kind of stupid but some scenes had me struggling to breathe.
 
I watched Fight Club while high, and it was great. I spent the whole time noticing little details. Another good film to watch might be Donnie Darko, or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, anything by Quentin Tarantino, Python films... Pixar..

It really boils down to your individual taste in movies.

Sorry about all the replies. I said Labyrinth originally and thought of a couple more, which my fiance decided to delete and add his own ideas for you. I personally don't like The Big Lebowski, so here are my other recommendations...

Blue Velvet, NAKED LUNCH, and "Head-On" otherwise known as
"Gegen Die Wand ". ( A German/Turkish film and hard to find, but awesome if you do/can.) It's subtitled in English. Best movie. EVER.

hmm. good question. blow, the Matrix movies, fght club. possibly shrooms. then the classic half-baked and dazed and confused. or play music on WMP and zone out into he visualizations.
 
I'm assuming you've seen them but Empire Strikes Back and Terminator 2 never fail to amaze. Also there's a surreal Russian sci-fi film called Kin-Dza-Dza that's great. Have to second Drugstore Cowboy as well, great film.
 
Fuck, I really should have checked back up on this before all of the responses rolled in. So much for individual responding.

Thanks for all the suggestions, and just to inform, I haven't seen a lot of the "Cult Classic" movies. Ie. Star Wars, Matrix Series, Pulp Fiction.

Though I am planning on seeing as many as possible.
