Sleeping
Gazing with eyes closed
at the vivid memories of days gone by
almost scarry how real it all looks
trying to focus on the pleasures of this trip
maybe I am supposed to take these feelings with me
or maybe it's just another illusion
I can see faces & places
but no details
an adventure begins
and then
a familiar sound makes it's presence known
I open my eyes
and realize
I am back from my dream
and as I push the snooze button
I wonder
is there a way for me
never to wake up from this state
never to endure all the pain and nightmares of being awake
and function in this world
