So im going to an event this saturday and unfortunately i've been fighting off some sort of sickness that i assume to be mono or something of the like. i have very swollen lymph nodes and an extremely sore throat. It has slowly been getting better, but i assume it will still be in existence by saturday. I have had no fever of any kind throughout this sickness, no fatigue either.

My question is, would it be very dangerous to roll at this event if i still have this sickness? and have any of you had similar experiences?:!

I did once and it was not worth it. You won't feel well, if anything worse because your moving around and dehydrated. Rest up for now and if you're better than go for it. But dont make the same mistake as me. And DO NOT take cold medicine before you roll, I remembered I googled if you could and there is a chance of an adverse reaction between MDMA and common cold medicines.

MDMA all but shuts down your immune system while you're on it, so I think it's fair to say that rolling while you're sick isn't the greatest of ideas.

It's probably not going to kill you, you'll probably still have a lot of fun, but the comedown is going to be that much more miserable. If you're willing to take the risk, go for it.

If you do go, be sure to load up on vitamin C before hand and I would try my best not to share anything (water, pacifiers, etc.) with anyone else while there.

i wouldnt take any sort of cold medicine before-hand aside from things like Multi-vitamin,asian mushrooms, and oregano oil(nothing that's an MAOI)
I'm aware that the comedown will probably be worse and that i wont feel good after, but i care more about it actually being dangerous as far as having a visit to the hospital or something of the sort

for what its worth, I had to administer nalbuphine to someone who went raving right after surgery and suddenly found dancing on fresh stitches without their oxy script to be the suck.

So people have done stupider things regarding raving in ill health.

hahahah, were those stitches on his feet? cuz that'd just be completely ridiculous :)
I can also imagine that im gona want to hit a bowl after the roll which im sure will fuck with my throat quite a bit. Any other experiences or tips?8o

While I was rolling, I still felt "sick" which was very annoying. You got time to get better. Rest, drink diluted organic apple cider vinegar a few times a day, take vitamin C, yadda yadda yadda.

horrible idea.
mdma will lower your immune system and will make it even harder for you to get better.
you're sick. why would you want to roll?..
plus you dont want to run around, hugging people and getting them sick, also.

Get this. Seriously

This kicked the ass of my mono and any other sore throat that I've had.

well i would want to roll cuz im forsure going to the event even if i'm sick. It's very rare that i get time off and have the opportunity to attend something like this. So i was wondering if rolling would harm me greatly basically. even if im more sick the next day, im willing to accept that. I just dont want to have any issues while at the event

I went to one with a cold once, and it was terrible. I couldn't enjoy myself, the roll was uncomfortable. They were good, tested, beans too :( rolling will make anything you have at least a little worse, since staying up late and using drugs weakens your immune system

Not only do you risk feeling shitty while you're rolling, but you risk spreading your sickness to other ravers. This is the raver plague. The smart thing to do would be to get rest and recover, and roll when you're feeling better =)

then i have an extreme urgency to get rid of this infestation by saturday. im doin oil of oregano, multi-vitamin, colloidal silver, asian mushrooms, astragalus, goldenseal, echinacea, a gallon of water/day, 9-10 hours sleep, apple cider vinegar. any other recomendations? hahah

Yes. Get rid of most of what you're taking aside from the multi-vitamins and maybe the asian mushrooms. Add to this a full prescription of antibiotics from a doctor. What you have sounds like strep, but seeing a doctor can verify exactly what you have, and I'm sure you'll wind up with an antibiotic script.

dude don't get rid of apple cider vinegar. its like magic. also cook tons of garlic in your food. If you're ballsy enough, eat a few cloves raw (I recommend you do this at night where you won't have to talk or see any one for the rest of the day. also brush your teeth vigorously right after.)

I happen to be against antibiotic use unless my remedies fail to work, which has never happened before, so i wont be taken a visit to the doc. I also take raw garlic tablets every 3 hours. I have been using stater bros apple cider vinegar (It tastes terrible!!!) do u think that will do?

the only reference I can find to garlic having any benefit for fighting illness (aside from cancer and cholesterol issues -- http://nccam.nih.gov/health/garlic/), is a random report by BBC with references to historical use of the plant. (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/health/1575505.stm)

According to WebMD, apple cider vinegar has a few uses that are of potential use -- diabetes, cholesterol, high blood pressure, cancer (although one study showed an increased risk of bladder cancer), and weight loss. Quantitative studies show that it probably won't help in this scenario and apple cider vinegar is also linked to loss in potassium levels, which is quite dangerous. (http://www.webmd.com/diet/apple-cider-vinegar?page=2)

On that note, I'm a skeptic of most supplemental / homeopathic remedies (not saying that all of them are bullshit, though). It's simply important to do your research into each supplement (on scientific websites -- not websites promoting the use of these chemicals) before making a decision to spend your money on it.

I've rolled when I had a cold; while rolling I completely even forget I have one and it's great! Afterwards though I came out of it a lot sicker than I was going in. Damn raver plague D:

I guess i am at fault for not always looking at scientific resources to verify information regarding supplementation. I have found that oil of oregano is extremely beneficial for all types of sicknesses though
