I got a friend request from a greenlighter with no posts, no personal information at all.

Normally, I don't bat an eye at a friend request from someone who at least has 20 posts and has given out a bit I info about themselves. However, this friend request seems a lot more... suspicious. Should I be concerned about it?

Also, is there any risk in me accepting this friend request? I guess I could send them a message and see what try want, but I thought I'd get input first.

Thanks bluelight! :)

It might be the person who posted in Basic Drug discussion about Adderall, he said he was sending friend requests?

^ He said they had no posts though.

If I were you I would just ignore it. Remember that if you ever get any PMs that violate the guidelines you can report it the same way you report posts.

"Friending" someone lets them observe your activity more closely in their friends status feed. So, anytime you post, they will get an instant update about it. Of course, this ability is ended if you decide to delete the friendship.

If this happened to me I would be suspicious of them being some kind of spammer about to contact me.

There's always the remote possibility that they were a lurker who was a fan of your posts and now that they registered they just HAD to friend you.

In any case, if something fishy happens, report it like Tommyboy said.

As with any internet site, I find it wise to only accept friend requests from people I know reasonably well. Despite the activity stream not showing them anything they couldn't look at anyway, it seems rather pointless to have a friend list full of randoms, and could also give others the idea you're close when you're not.
