I just read an interesting question from http://www.bilz0r.com:
"How come you can be old enough to quit school and possibly ruin your life, but not only enough to drink and possibly ruin your weekend?"

I then started wondering about ppl who have quit their school too early and what has happened to them after that. I'd like to hear experiences from people who didn't e.g. go to high school or stories about ppl they know who didn't continue their studies after comprehensive school. How likely is it to "ruin" your life if you quit school too early? I personally how done some mistakes related to school and now I'm a workless bastard. I'd like to hear other school drop-offs. Personally I just find studying too tough for my mental health. :\

Anyway, I just thought if people would have some good comments and opinions about this matter.

Cheers. :\

I dropped out early, worked a year in hospitality. Made me really wanna go to uni and be surrounded by smarter people. Next week I'm doing a preparation course to get into uni. I'll be studying the same time as if I'd stayed at school, and I have work experience and money so it's all good. There's plenty of options if you leave school.

I dropped out of high school my junior year. I started working full time and after about three years started to think about finishing high school and starting college. Four years after high school my boss started telling me to go back to school, his exact words were "if you are still doing this job when you are 40 someone should kick your ass and I'm gonna laugh." He was kidding of course, but his point was an important one. So I got my GED, and currently just finished my all of my general education requirements and have been accepted into the University of Minnesota.

I want to make enough money that will help to provide me with enough 'personal freedom' and 'wiggle room.' Working full time for a few years at a job which requires physical labor is not something I want to do for the rest of my life. I want to use my mind and find something more interesting to become involved with.

I don't think that dropping out of school early is going to ruin most peoples lives. It can however, very easily, hamper various aspects of living.

P.S. Note I said quit school and possibly ruin your life. The point is, deciding on whether you can quit school is a far more important decisions that whether you can have a drink.
