Quiting Xanax cold turkey and substituting with klonopin.

No. Switching to a long acting benzo like klonopin or valium is how people are usually tapered off benzos. If you switch to an equivalent dose of klonopin, you shouldn't get any withdrawals. Each time you taper your dose down (especially when going to 0) you will, of course, notice some withdrawals. But they won't be dangerous or unbearably painful (which cold turkey is, or at least can be).

Hope that helped!
For future reference; you posted in the wrong subforum, this is more of a BDD (Basic Drug Discussion) thread. Just a heads up! ;)

Well you may already know but I'm not sure from your post so I'll state it anyway,

Alprazolam(xanax) and clonazepam (klonopin) are both benzodiazepines and affect the same area in your brain, your central nervous system and gaba receptors.

Like mentioned above a long acting benzo with the proper taper plan can be almost painless and is no where near impossible.
