I know some people use 1 inch and some use 1 1/2 inch. What are the pros and cons of each. I've search everywhere and can not find an argument that supports either one of those sizes besides that's the size I use.

Well, with 1.5" pins, you don't have to pin the entire 1.5" needle into your muscle, you can choose to inject only 1" of the pin. So, the 1.5" can act like 2 lengths in a way.

I agree but that makes for a potentially hazardous injection if the needle accidentally gets pushed deeper.

I myself have always used both the 1" and 1.5"... Basically for the glutes and hip sites, you use the 1.5" and bury them to the hilt, and for other sites you use the 1" ones and bury them unless you are very very small.

For the glutes, you wouldn't recommend a 1.5" unless the person is say ... 5'5" 130lbs? Would absorption be better with a deeper injection site on the glute.

I actually use 1.5" for the glutes and I'm 6' 245lbs @ 7%bf.

The deeper the injection, all the better. I use 1" on my quads and delts, 1.5" on the glutes. If I run out of 1" pins and need to take a shot in my quad, I'll use a 1.5" and simply not go all the way in...I usually go 1.25" in the quad when using a 1.5" pin. It's good to have some of the needle showing just in-case it ever breaks off when it's inside you. It will leave you with something to hold on to if you have to pull it out.
