Questions about Xanax (Chemistry)

I am looking for answers from chemist mostly. My question(s) are, can i change the soluble chemical needed for Xanax to water using a different system ?

Is it possible to use alcohol to dissolve Xanax and then either drop it out of solution using another chemical that can be removed later, or convert the drug xanax from this alcohol mixture into a liquid form of Xanax that would give it more bioavailability to the epidermis in some way ? I am looking for a delivery method that would act fast though the skin.

sounds like "how do i date rape someone" to me, because no one should need to know how to do something like that
better yet i dont see a legitimate reason for anyone to do this unless you have ill intentions
well.... maybe trying to make a spray-able form for sending it inside prison or something? and if this is the case it wont work

Alprazolam dissolves in alcohols pretty well, ethanol will work.

Alcohol doesnt permeate through the skin that well and would not be a suitable carrier. I do agree that a more generic question would have shielded him from sounding like he has wrong intentions. If you were attempting to learn about this subject the best place to start would be looking into how compounds can cross the skin barrier and then apply what you learn to what your main interest is.

^ yeah, alcohols aren't the best at permeating the skin, I forgot about that aspect of the question, although it would still work to some extent. If you want a better solvent for that, try DMSO or acetone.

If i wanted to do that, i would simply use crushed xanax in someones alcoholic drink, even perhaps extracting the fillers before hand to come up with a pure mix then making it into a liquid (no need to mix)since it is very soluble in alcohol. This is not my intentions at all, i came to this website because i noticed drug addicts seem to know more about drugs then their creators and so forth, thus any chemist on this site would be most interested and helpful (if they wanted to be) for helping for research of new theories of how things work on the micro scale.

Try looking into clonazepam as it is in the same class and has a topical application. This is not my primary area of expertise but it will start you on the path to seeing if a topical formulation of alprazolam has been tested.
