Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone has any personal experience with Lamictal and/or Invega Sustenna inhibiting/negating the effects of adderall. I have been on Adderall for 3 years for ADHD and about 9 months ago I was given the Invega shot and 7 months ago I started taking Lamictal as a mood stabilizer for my bipolar disorder. Ever since getting the Invega shot, I have noticed that my ADHD meds don't seem to work that much anymore. They still help, but very minimally. Has anyone else experienced this?
After 9 months I didn't think the Invega shot should still be blocking my ADHD meds from working...which is why I was thinking that maybe it was the Lamictal. That being said, I have found some anecdotal evidence of people receiving the Invega shot and then having their ADHD meds seem ineffective even years later. I'm just trying to find out if there is anything I can do to get my ADHD meds to help again. I don't abuse them and I take them daily with weekend holidays at therapeutic doses. My psychiatrist said the Invega shot should have stopped negating them after a month and that Lamictal has no KNOWN interaction with Adderall. Keyword "known"....I'm also on Wellbutrin xl 300mg every day so I'm not ruling that out as the possible culprit either. I just thought the antipsychotic and mood stabilizer might be more likely culprits than an DNRI antidepressant. I could be wrong though.
