Opioids Questions about adminstration (Targin, Targiniq)

Hi!

I have couple of these pill's (Targin), and they include 20mg of Oxycodone and 10mg of Naloxone.
And I was wondering about the best and most efficient way to take these..
They are ER pills, so should I just pop them as they are?
Can I split them in half to obtain the Oxycodone faster?

Im just asking cause im curious, never had these before in my "career".

Advices, anyone?

Tampering with the medication should not have any effect on the rate at which you absorb the medication, to my knowledge it is not a time-released medication, just sorta like an instant release oxycodone + naloxone to "deter abuse" of the medication via routes of administration other than orally (Naloxone is poorly absorbed orally) by inducing precipitated withdrawals.

Unlike Suboxone, (which can be IV'd without consequence of precipitated withdrawal due to buprenorphine having a higher binding affinity than naloxone) administering this medication via IV, nasal, or rectal routes will make you very very sick.

Hmm.
I am aware that IV, nasal or rectal routes are not an option.
But it is a ER pill, depot.
I was wondering if splitting the pill would be an better option than swallowing it as it is?
The time release allows 20mg of the oxycodone absorbed in 12 hours.

^Gotcha, I wasn't sure if it was time released or not because I don't think they market this drug in the United States, at least I've never seen or heard of it here.

I'm going to put my money on no, splitting it will not make any difference vs swallowing it as is.

Let us know how it goes. If it's anything like American time releases, splitting it accomplishes slim to nothing.

Not widely used (Which is good.)
