alright um i understand that sodium pentathol is a barb and this one kid i talked to says it doesn't work, it's useless, blah blah blah. but does it work tho? and since it's a barb then why isn't it on the scheduled list? anyway i don't plan on doing anything with it, i'm just wondering.
 
Isn't sodium pentathol a sleeping drug?
IE: the shit that they give you on death row before they pump your body with shit that colapses your lungs and stops your heart..?

What schedule are you looking at? The copy I keep on the refrigerator door has it listed......doesn't matter though, as long as it has "substantially similar" effects as a scheduled drug it can be claimed as one. I wonder if there is any other branch of government other than the DEA that can write policy and then enforce it.....hmmmmm.......?????? Those guys amaze me, but the fact that we as a population have let this crap go on is truly a tribute to the propaganda of 80's. Thanks Nacy and Ron.

there's one that i look at on the main website, but it doesn't say anything about it. i was just wondering if this stuff really worked and how long does it take for you to get knocked out. oh has anyone ever heard of midazolam b4?

It's scheduled... it is the barbituate they give, the first chemical in the combo of 3 that makes up the lethal injection... the drug they give prior to the execution is, as the previous posted said, midazolam - aka "Versed" - a benzo used mainly for pre-surgical sedation..

yeah, it is (although it's not fatal, and neither is the second one, a muscle relaxant. the fatal agent is potassium chloride, which prevents nerve impulses and stops the heart.)
except it's not sodium pentothol, it's sodium pentothal, with an A. that's technically a trade name. the generic name is thiopental sodium.
sodium pentothal is colloquially known as "truth serum" because the sedation it causes makes it mentally easier to tell the truth than to lie. so it's been used in innumerable movies and even cartoons, although probably not so much in real life.
interestingly enough it also has some ability to protect cells against radiation, and can even protect against a fatal dose of radiation. making it an absolutely essential addition to your militia's bunker. back to that lethal injection thing, potassium iodide, a close relative of potassium chloride, also provides some protection against radiation (though it really only protects the thyroid).
 
it depends on the area, sometimes they get a benzo, sometimes an antipsychotic, sometimes nothing. it's not considered one of the 3 drugs in the lethal injection. personally, i don't think it's right to give them anything psychoactive beforehand because i believe they should be fully sober and conscious of their fate (not so much because of vengeance or 'what they deserve', but out of dignity). that's just my opinion.
anyway, sodium pentothal by IV injection causes a very brief period of unconsciousness (on the scale of one to several minutes), thus making its recreational value zero. it's a very strange property of barbiturates; depending on the substitution, the effect can last from a minute to several days. my lab manual has a synthesis of a barbiturate by the malonic acid ester reaction (mm, active methylene groups) but the barbiturate synthesized has a half-life so short it's not psychoactive at all.
 
isn't chloroform an anesthetic? anyway i was wondering how long it would knock someone out?
 
when you inject the sodium p, how long till the effect comes on? and since it's a barb is it possible to get it in the rave scenes?
 
hey phreek like what? chloroform, rohypnol? i'm not exactly gonna knock out a women but i wanted to get revenge on this one kid but i don't know of any drugs that would last for a good 5 to 10 minutes. would it even have the same effect in a tranq dart?
 
well not exactly revenge but more of wake up call i suppose. so chloroform would be out yes? someone told me midazolam is strong shit compared to sodium pentathol but someone told me is when you inject into someone you have to inject in a 2 minute time range. but what are the better liquid sleep drugs? and are there any drugs out there that make you really drunk and dizzy? really i just want to knock someone out for a good 5-10 minutes i guess.

i was thinking of k, makeing him go into a k-hole for a little while but it sounds like a bad idea....
 
Just put a drop of acid in his drink that should fuck him up for a long time if he has a bad trip
