Hey all,

Had a question for people in their mid to late 20's and have friends who still party. Do you think ecstasy use has really affected your friends? I have done my share of reading on the long-term affects of mdma on rats and also have a f few friends who are now burnouts, but they rolled like 4 times a week. What I'm curious about are the people who roll like every 2 to 3 months and only like do 2 pills. I know that alot of this is relative, but as a general rule, what have you seen from friends who do pills within that kind of a timespan vs friends who did not do ecstasy? Its really the long-term affects that I am curious about and I do not really know anyone who raves anymore.

Thanks!

The burnout doesn't last forever if you do your bit if and when it comes to that which it probably will.
People worrying about it do more damage by worrying about it then the drugs did.

Using sane amounts every couple of months for YEARS has had no noticeable affect on me or my circle of friends.

Doing stupid amounts of MDMA, alcohol, or even weed way too often will have negative effects.

I did large amounts of MDMA, binging on it day after day on and off for twelve years. I've taken it easy on it the past year and a half (I'm 24 now which qualifies as mid-20s to me). I'm currently at almost four months since I last did mdxx and I can say that, even with my heavy use, the only noticeable effects have been a little difficulty remembering lists and various things I'm supposed to do. This immediately went away when I started supplementing with piracetam two weeks ago.

I'm certain that with the very mild use you are mentioning you'd be hardpressed to notice any long term effects at all minus maybe a week long depression years of use down the road.

Interesting. That sounds about what a few of the friends I knew did. I'm kind of wondering about the others. For the most part they are ok. About the worst I have seen is like a few days or a week of depression.
I grew up like alot of kids here in the USA hearing about how evil pills are, yet the people I have seen who are the worst off are the alchoholics. (Nothing against drunks....) That, and so many of the studies done have been debunked. (The whole whole in your brain one was one of my favorites...)

The worry of brain damage or other negative effects has played on my anxiety in the worst way. I had the anxiety problems before the "E." I know that for certain.
Although at times I do feel "slower" than my peers, I feel other psychological problems are to blame and/or cannabis abuse.

It's interesting to note that most of the problems disappeared with SSRIs and therapy.
