I forgot to bake the plant material to convert the THCA to THC. Will my tincture be worthless?

It will be fine. It won't be worthless. Baking the plant matter sounds wasteful.

interesting, if baking plant matter is wasteful, why don't ppl sprinkle buds on shit and just eat it straight? i mean i seems like it could go either way, because as long as you bake it under the vapo. point of thc you shouldn't lose any goodies.... I dont know i am just guessing

Well I believe it needs to be heated to infuse itself into something such as butter. What the heat actually does is greatly speed up the rate that of the THC dissolving into the fat.

For something like alcohol (which is what I picture when I hear tincture) I'm under the impression that you can take raw marijuana buds, soak them for a month in high proof alcohol, and then have your tincture :)

^correct. grind the weed up really well. use everclear or at least 151. keep the bottle in a paper bag or duct tape over it. keep in a cool, dark place. shake daily for a month or two. do not "bake."
