Greetings all,
I shall keep this brief - hypothetically if one ordered a personal amount of something from the dark-net, but the postie was unable to deliver it due to no one being there for the original and re-delivery attempt, what happens? The 21 holding days that RM holds post for a nearly up, and I am unable to pick up said package due to not being there until a few days after the expiry date.

The parcel has no 'return to sender' address on it (again - darknet vendor), so I'm aware that the post goes to some centre in Belfast, where post is opened to try and identify the sender. This would obviously be a bad thing....

Basically what I'm saying is, has anyone ever had this happen before? I've heard of people purposely choosing not to pick a package up from the PO, so their parcel must of been sent to this Belfast centre too. Am I right in thinking that if your mail gets opened in this centre and they find naughties in it, your door goes in?

Where no external return address is provided and the letter does not have a Printed Postage Impression or franking mark, the item will be forwarded to the National Returns Centre in Belfast and opened to identify a sender
(It's on the same page but further down).

I'm just not fond of the idea of some Irish bloke opening it....

I guess I could try phoning the area's sorting office and ask them not to hold it?

Bit of a failure in planning there roller - yeah they're going to open it and unless the stealth is brilliant they're going to find the drugs and you'll probably get a knock from the police. Make sure you're at the address before you order next time.

Make sure that you've nothing illegal in the house because it will be searched. Deny all knowledge of the drugs and make sure you're computer isn't in the house too.

Worth trying to see if you explain what's happened, they'll hold on to it a bit longer at the sorting office, or if you know someone in the area who'll receive it for you, see if they'll redeliver it there. It would seem a bit weird to go straight in and ask them to chuck away your package.

Only trouble is that you'll have to pretend someone else made those enquiries if you need to deny all knowledge later down the line and the police find out they were made, but it's unlikely that they will.

popo previous comments were nothing more than a psychedelic dream materialised into a pseudo post

A couple of things you should try -1, call the local P.O and ask them to keep your parcel, feed them a story about being in hospital or similar. 2. get someone else to pick it up 3. if its a small 'consignment ' its unlikely you will get any bother - too much hassle to spend resources identifying said matterial and then on kicking down the door with no evidence apart from something that has been sent to you by persons unknown (still a good idea to remove anything incriminating from yer place though).

Never assume the police are "too busy" to do a drugs raid. They'll always find time and manpower for that.

I guess if it's a small enough order, they'll just bin it & crack on.

Def ring the PO, they will def keep it for you if they know you are going to pick it up. The rules apply to completely ignored mail! Ring them first thing in the morning.

On a more positive note I had something like happen ages ago. I ordered 10 ecstasy pills over email but when they turned up (I lived in student halls at the time) the postman knocked on our other door meaning that I didn't hear the bell to sign for them and one of my housemates opened the door. Apparently this cunt didn't recognise my name (he was a foreign exchange dude but still...) so my parcel got taken away.

After finding out about this I emailed the post office and got an email back to the tune of since they couldn't deliver it it was going to get opened so they could try to return to sender. As this was near the beginning of my drug ordering career I naturally freaked out (and went home and caned a load of meph... I cope well in crisis ;)). However that email was the end of it and I heard no more.

Obviously lost my pills and my £40 but didn't get the cops knocking on my door and was able to order stuff sucessfully to that address for the next 6+months.

Maybe I was lucky but generally? I'd say don't worry too much.

^^ They blatantly didn't need to be such dicks about opening it if you were ready to collect it. I bet they saw the package was addressed to halls and decided to boost morale down the sorting office :D

Well the bad news is that I'm now bent over in the cells, and taking it up the chocolate escalator from some black bloke called 'Daddy'.....:(

The good news is that I phoned the PO, and they informed me that their tracker showed that the parcel had been re-delivered and signed for. It is now being kept for me by a mate until I arrive. So panic over :D

What have I learnt? Don't order packages to houses where you won't be staying! However in my own head, the rationale was that if I wasn't there when the package came, then I didn't have to worry about a CD. However, I failed to factor in this whole belfast centre shite. Thank Christ I actually checked last night about what happens to mail that is kept longer than 3 weeks, otherwise I would of been in shit....

Bit after the fact now, but you can phone the post office/sorting office and pay 50pence to have it re-delivered to a local post office where you can then pick it up in person at a time that suits you. It's only tricky if you've ordered it under a fake name, as they'll want to see a bank card or some form of ID. Or not, depends how lax the post office is.
