Question about chasing the dragon

Ok, we all know that chasing the dragon is vaporizing some substance on tin foil and sucking the smoke up through a straw or what have you. Now I was thinking and it seems to me that instead of tin foil a spoon could be used instead. A spoon seems much more convenient in that it doesn't crease and kind of "pop" your shit in the air sometimes. All those that have used this method should know what I mean. Also, a spoon has the natural dip in it, making it perfect for keeping the substance all in one place. So my question is is there any reason why I never hear of spoons being used instead of tin foil? Is there some reason for this? If not then I suggest you all start using spoons instead.

I tsounds to me like you've never "chased the dragon", have you?
Here's how I do it: I put the little hunk of tar on the aluminum foil. Then I put the flame of the lighter underneath the foil (which is held at an angle). As the tar begins to melt, it drips down the foil....and you inhale the smoke that comes up from the dripping tar. Ya see--you're "chasing" the smoke from the tar as it drips down the foil. "Chasing the dragon"--Get it?
So there's no way you could do it with a spoon.
First off--the thin aluminum heats up extremely fast...
Second--the spoon would have to be very long. When chasing some tar, the hunk of tar would drip down a about an inch & half to two inches.
I don't know....I suppose that maybe you could get it to work with a spoon. But it wouldn't be as effective. So why bother with that, when there's an easy & effective way of doing it?
