Alcohol Question about Alcohol

Alright, I just need some clarification on this



A shot of most liquor would be about 40% alc
If there's a beer that's 5% alc, would I have to drink 8 beers to achieve the same effect of a shot?

Or do the different brewing styles effect the way you get drunk?

One beer contains the same amount of alcohol as a 40% ABV shot of liquor.

So 8 beers is the same amount of alcohol as 8 shots.

by that logic you would need to take 8 shots worth of beer because it's percent alcohol by volume, not grams per serving....
