Q on Crystal forms of various drugs

In Australia, we don't often (if at all) get exposed to the raw crystal forms of drugs that seem to be more common in America. We also call our drugs different names.
So I'm a little confused. I'd like to try a few of these different drugs when I'm over there but I'd like to know what to ask for, and what to expect if I do lay my hands on any of them.
So, what is crank...and how is this different to crack?
How is crystal meth different to speed (Australian speed...white powdered amphetamine that doesn't seem as addictive as meth). Is crystal meth the same as glass, or ice? One would presume it comes as a crystal....do you chop it up and snort it?
I know you can smoke white rock opium. Is this substance a purer form of heroin? Is heroin a dirtier form of opium?
Are there any other crystal type drugs which are worth mentioning, and if you take them, why do you enjoy them?
When I'm not at work, I'll be doing some research on all of these substances, but your answers will help point me in the right direction. Plus, I'm always interested to hear all your own personal experiences and knowledge with these drugs. That can be far more helpful and informative than reading a website.

Hey miss apple. Well I'm not the best expert with crystal and speed but I'll give it a shot.
- Crank, Glass and Jibb are crystal. There is no difference except for the name.
- Crystal is different from speed in that it is a freebase of speed as far as I know. It's much more powerful in every way and apparently can be very euphoric.
And I have no idea about ther heroin/opium thing. Well I do but I won't state anything because I'm really not sure at all if it would be accurate or not. I hope this helps!

I like to do Crystal. It's one of my favs.
Every time I get good crystal is an off white color (sort of creamy yellowish) and nice and chunky. Burns like the shit.
I usually snort crystal, but my favorite method is smoking or free-basing.
Be careful - I've gotten burnt on that shit at a lot of parties when it's hard to see what you're getting (due to the lighting and the atmosphere).
I wouldn't recommend Crack. If I'm correct, crack is basicaly cocaine cooked up with a little amonia or keroseine (or whatever). It's not good for you - not like smoking Crystal is - but it's a lot safer to look for crystal than it is to look for Crack - at least I think it is. Maybe that sounds corny - but I think the whole world that surrounds Crack-cocaine is ugly and scary and violent.
I don't know... Maybe that helps some..

Speed=Crystal Meth.. they are absolutly the same. The white powder you speak of is a crystal. This crystal can be made into "ice" or "glass".. which is a smokeable rock form of the same substance. Crank is injeted.. but it too is just methamphetamine in a different state. All the same.
Opium and Heroin are different drugs. Thier comparison has nothing to do with "dirty" or "clean".
Generally speaking.. the "crystal form" of a drug is the white powder (MDMA*HCl is a crystaline salt). The rock form (crack for example) is just powder thats binded up with something.

crank is a slang term for amphetamines, and not necessarily being methaphetamines.
crack is the smokeable form of cocaine.
Ok, now hang on coz it gets a little technical and i'm not good at explaining things very well

Anything is considered a crystal form if it is in it's "salt" form. Usually this means it's the hydrochloride salt form because this is easy for our bodies to absorb from your stomach. So cocaine HCL, MDMA HCL, amphetamine HCL are all crystal forms of these drugs. To smoke a drug you have to make it a freebase. That is, without the HCL bit, and then this "usually" makes the drug a sticky gooey oil.
The difference between crystal meth (methaphetamine) and "normal speed" (amphetamine) is what's called a methyl group on the drug. This makes meth about ten times (i think?) stronger than normal amphetamines.
The high from meth can be as long as 24 hours and is very intense. It can create feelings of anxiety, paranoia, and aggression. And the comedown is REALLY REALLY bad. So if your thinking of doing meth my advice is not to. Normal amphetamines are much nicer if you can get quality

As to whether opium is a purer form of heroin? No, it's not heroin at all. in fact heroin can be made out of opium but is structurally different, but both have similar actions in the body, but heroin is obviously the worse of the two.
As something worth mentioning in regards to speed, when you get it always have a taste of it first, if it's not a foul taste then don't buy it coz it's probably been cut with too much glucose, thats always assuming there's any speed in it in the first place

thanks everyone....esp vert-E-go...you've been very very helpful. Although Acidburn, speed is NOT crystal meth. speed is amphetamine and crystal meth is methamphetamine. But thank you for your other advice nonetheless.
i'm looking forward to trying both meth and opium (hopefully

JuNgLe bAbY: I remeber back in October i went to a smallish jungle party (HeavyHitters: 4th Year aniversary) and i'd been doing alot of K and i bought some crystal off my friend (who is a runner for a pretty big drug dealer), he comes back with the crystal and im looking at it for like 5 mins going "Is this brown or am i just trippin'?"
anyways it was brown and it was good shit too

Grifter: When I went to Era over the summer I bought a gram of Crystal from this guy who told me it was "Pink Champaigne"
(or something to that nature) and he was like "Look! See, it's pink!" And I was trippin pretty good and I looked at it and it really was pink! I was like "Wowwww! Pink Champaigne! CooOOoool..." Unfortunitly it wasn't good, but when I had sobered up the next day and I found the empty gram baggie with a tiny bit of powder in the creases at the bottom of the bag - I noticed that the Crystal wasn't pink, the bag was! I felt like a real asshole then *blush* - talk about dumb mistakes..

crystal/jib = crystal methamphetamine - chunky, crystally, yellowish/whitish, kinda dirty looking, and can be horrid for your health. can be very addictive...can be controlled, but believe me, meth can cause some bad bad problems...i have heard and read in several places that if you pour crystal meth onto a raw piece of meat, it will eat a hole through the meat...never tried that test myself...
speed = amphetamine sulphate i'm quite sure...at least here (canada) sometimes tablets, otherwise clean, white powder...not normally as addictive as meth...nasty bitter taste and burns the nose...not as bad for you as crystal i would say,
oh - SMOKING CRYSTAL: i would STRONGLY reccomend NOT to do this...firstly, you're not meant to inhale smoke from burned chemicals...crytal meth is a dirty chemical in itself, and you don't know what else is being released into you when you smoke it, and: i have read several times in different places that: IF METH IS SMOKED, IT CAN CRYSTALIZE IN YOUR LUNGS...that is what i have read...so personally i would not advise anyone to smoke meth...if you do, well, you do, and if you do use meth, PLEASE, do be careful...same with speed...but meth...oi...oh well, i just wanted to say that and that there is a definate difference between crystal and speed...thank you. =)
