Hey @grimlo :)

First off, welcome to the forums. Thanks for hanging out and participating in this little circle jerk of ours. Speaking of circle jerks, there have been multiple threads in the past couple of days regarding the solubility in water of Alprazolam (Xanax).

The simple answer is that Alprazolam is not soluble in water. Solubility means that a substance can mix with water to form an essentially homogenous combination of the two. For illustrative purposes, think of table salt, Sodium Chloride. It dissolves readily in water with barely any visual indication of its presence. Now let's say you put sand like from the beach into water. You can stir that shit up all day, yet you are still going to be left with a bunch of sand as the bottom layer.

Likewise, there are drugs that are and are not soluble in water. This is not typically a "by design" thing. It's coincidental. Benzodiazepines as an entire class of pharmaceuticals are non-soluble in water with few exceptions. For instance, Midazolam (Versed) a short-acting Benzodiazepine most often used in anesthesia happens to be soluble in water.

This doesn't mean that Benzodiazepines cannot be injected. These drugs are not soluble in water, though they are often soluble in other solvents like Alcohol for example. It is generally not practical for most people to attempt to turn pharmaceutical Benzodiazepine tablets into solutions that are actually safe for injection, though that doesn't mean it's not done.

Short answer, you can't make a solution with Alprazolam using water. That is why there is still sediment left after mixing. It's generally unadvisable to attempt this practice as a layperson, as doing it wrong can lead to very serious complications. Myself and others who have been on here a while have more than one story of people getting limbs amputated after they were sure they'd made an effective Benzodiazepine solution for injection.

We're standing on the shoulders of giants people.
