Hello Bluelight community

I haven't read your forum that much yet but I get the idea and I was thinking that maybe you would enjoy this wikidatabase of publicly expressed thoughts and ideas of influental people about the effects of psychedelic drugs. Similar article once excisted in Wikipedia by name "List of notable people who have taken psychedelic drugs" but it got removed probably because it was lacking too much sources or it was otherwise too controversial.

The idea is to collect confessions of psychedelic drug use by influental people in order to get the big picture on how has psychedelic substances influenced our culture in ways we are just beginning to grasp at more holistic level. So far we have gathered around 200 testimonies with such names as Steve Jobs, Tori Amos, Sting, Francis Crick, George Carlin, Lemmy Kilmister, Bill Gates, Osho, Adam Smith, Oliver Stone, Jean-Paul Sartre etc.

So far the database is at server of Finnish Tie² community. Nevertheless it could obviously interest a more global psychedelic community so we are doing it in english and maybe it someday moves to some more international location. We have been thiking about wikia.com.

If you want to participate you need to create and account in the wiki or you can pass your information on this here topic. We do require source for all information but there is also a separate segment for doubts that are not confirmed but are worth further investigation.

Here you go, Enjoy!

This is a great collection, I just started reading it, but I can tell already that there is a lot of great quotes in here.

You've made an excellent contribution with your first post. Thank you!

Of course it's not only my contribution. If you check the edit history you see it's mostly two guys that collected and formed it from previous collections.

either way, thanks for posting this!

certainly a great database that will go down in the records of psychedelic history, IMO.

not opened it yet but im going to after i post this reply!

my favourite so far-

(from Ralph Abraham)
"A woman who writes a computer column for the San Francisco Examiner had received in her mail box a copy of the GentlemanÕs Quarterly article, in which Timothy Leary was quoted as saying, "The Japanese go to Burma for teak, and they go to California for novelty and creativity. Everybody knows that California has this resource thanks to psychedelics."
Then the article quoted me as the supplier for the scientific renaissance in the 1960s. This columnist didn't believe what was asserted by Timothy Leary and others in the GQ article, that the computer revolution and the computer graphic innovations of California had been built upon a psychedelic foundation. She set out to prove this story false."

"She went to Siggraph, the largest gathering of computer graphic professionals in the world, where annually somewhere in the United States 30,000 who are vitally involved in the computer revolution gather.
She thought she would set this heresy to rest by conducting a sample survey, beginning her interviews at the airport the minute she stepped off the plane.

By the time she got back to her desk in San Francisco she'd talked to 180 important professionals of the computer graphic field, all of whom answered yes to the question, "Do you take psychedelics, and is this important in your work?"

rocknroll714, thanks for the addition. It's great to see someone is participating right away.
