next weekend im going to a 48 hr psytrance party thats being held outdoors on an indian reservation. this is by far going to be the biggest event i am yet to attend.

im just kinda wondering what to expect. we cant really help you on the topic of what drugs will be sold at the rave bro, sorry -thizzer is the scene a lot different than a rave?

any advice or just plain ole story telling would be greatly appreciated. thanks! :)

youll get much more out of the party when you dont focus only on the drugs.
breathe the vibe, watch the people, meet new friends, listen to the music & dance - thats the best drug, available at most psytrance-partys ;)

my second rave was a psytrance one. it was awesome.

expect a much more intimate experience than a normal trance party. the scene is smaller. but the people that go are hardcore about it.

get into it.

Psy shows are alot more centered around the music and less about the drugs. Childish behavior is not well tolerated there, nor is being fucked up beyond controlling yourself. You will rarely see candy shit or kids dressed up in costumes so please do not show up looking like a fool. Many psy shows do not have drug dealers, or very few anyway. It is generally frowned upon to slang pills and narcotics at these shows. BYOB your party supplies and sharing is the norm.

Basically psy trance shows are for a more mature audience and center on the music not getting pilled out of your head.

sounds like my scene.... i love psytrance and quite frankly learned to hate ravers/candy kids....

as much as i would like to agree with theWorldWithin's view on psytrance parties, i have really seen it go both ways (more mature audiences vs. a bunch of pilled out kids). in my experience, anything outdoors and going on for more than 8 or 9 hours has definitely had its own brand of crazy drugged outness.

either way...outdoor events are awesome. can't beat 'em.

Expect to get dosed and listen to music.

Its fun... WAY fun.

I agree with the above posters. Just go and don't have any expectations, and you will get dosed without having to seek it out, and you'll hear amazing music and meet really cool people.

I don't think I've ever actually had to seek out psychedelics at a trance event. I've had to refuse them plenty of times though, haha.

And yes - the kandi kid thing is generally frowned upon. I was at a trance party and met a girl with blue hair and kandi up to her elbows. Asked her name, and with a dazed look in her eyes she goes, "Twinkle." 8(

^And I've met dazed hippies at trance parties with names like Chode and Fern and whatnot. Who cares?

If they're enjoying the music and doing no harm except offending your sense of aesthetics, then have a think about why you have an issue with them.

ive been to a few psytrance (doof) parties and had the most amazing time. just knowing your so secluded and the music and the lights bouncing off all the trees with a head full of acid is just so special

I didn't mean that I dislike these people without getting to know them. That would go against the whole reason I like these parties. I know I sounded superficial there but I was referring to people whose entire personality revolves around the 'kandi kid' image. I dress up in furry "raver" clothes all the time, but I don't call myself Twinkle and only talk about how "fuckin awesome the beans are dude."

It annoys me, and you can't tell me that there isn't some level of distaste in the trance community toward the raver type. Whether or not you or I agree with it, that's the way it is. And most of us were kandi kids to begin with. ;)

you must be going to psytribe? i went to the last one. this time, two of my friends are playing - sentient and helios.

you should expect a great crowd, awesome music and a beautiful setting.

pfffffffft....you won't necessarily see too many kandi kids, but what's wrong with wearing costumes and looking ridiculous? Who cares what people look like? Something else that isn't tolerated well at psy parties is judgment and elitism....open your mind, bro!

OP: Psy parties are supreme awesomeness. Delve in. ENJOY! :)

^ Yep..despite my comments on "ravers" (since I was talking about the ones who build their entire personality around it and have nothing to offer intellectually) I dress crazy for almost every psy party I go to. Blacklight responsive furry clothing ftw.
