PS3 3D update?

I just noticed my playstation updated and I decided to read what the update did for once.

It says it makes it 3d compatible.

Does anyone even plan to use this? I could NOT sit in front of a 3d screen like that for very long...
I want it to be 3d without glasses haha.

Considering the fact that i'd have to drop another $1500~$2000 for an actual 3d tv, I don't really see myself using the ps3 for any 3d stuff.. By the time I have the extra moolah to dump on a TV like that, I'd hope the next generation consoles will be out!

Definitely a cool idea, though..
