Propranolol and Asthma

I am planning to take propranolol before a speech, and most places I have looked suggest a 10mg dose for performance anxiety.
However, use of propranolol is contraindicated in people with asthma, or even a history of asthma.

"Therefore beta-blockers are contraindicated in any patient with a history of bronchial asthma, airways obstruction or a tendency to bronchospasm. Use of cardioselective beta-blockers can also result in severe bronchospasm. If such therapy must be used, great caution should be exercised. Alternative therapy should be considered" (MIMS Online)

When I was younger I had asthma, but it just went away when I was about 12, and now I am 21 years old. Would it still be safe for me to take it for performance anxiety, as it is only a small dose compared to doses used for other conditions?

I'm just worried because I've read of fatal overdoses with not much more than therapeutic doses of propranolol, but the actual amount was not stated, and I used to have asthma. Thanks.

i personally wouldnt take it if i was in that situation, but if i really truly needed it, i would dose low

Ok thanks. If I were to have taken it, it would only be 10mg, but the whole therapeutic dose fatalities just had me worried. But who knows what kind of health those people were in too...
