Mental Health Promethazine + Duloxetine for sleep

Hi all,

Haven't visited this site for a few years.

I've been using Phenergan with 60mg Duloxetine at night for sleep, I read that it's not a good idea to use Phenergan long term. Does anyone have thoughts about this combo long term? I tried cutting off the Phenergan and sticking with the anti depressant but my sleep has been really bad again (waking up 2/3/4am, anxiety sweat etc)

Thanks. Yeah I'm going to ask my doc about it, being unable to stay asleep is quite bad I will stick with taking Phenergan each night as well.
 
Maybe you can find it working for you if you take it in the morning. I've been on some meds though that caused insomnia regardless of when I took them, and others that I took in the morning and at night could sleep no problem.
 
I spoke to my doctor about it. He said there is some link between dementia and long term use of Phenergan but at my age not an issue - so ok to use for sleep. I have a feeling it does more for me than the promethazine, heh.
 
Yeah and lack of sleep is really hard on the brain and body. So, sounds like you're picking the lesser of two evils, in a sense.
