I am using Methylphenidate IR (only thing in my country for ADHD) 10mg. It is an extremely short lived drug. I read that alkaline urine reduces clearance/enhances reabsorption. I stack it with NAC, B complex, OMEGA 3, Mag Glycinate, L-tyrosine, Inositol, Zinc, Uridine.

Is there any way to prolong the dopaminergic effect of Ritalin in this case other than the urine PH (https://www.inchem.org/documents/pims/pharm/pim344.htm?)

Is there anything speaking against using an XR formulation? Methylphenidate IR is notoriously short acting (and can lead to "crashes" throughout the day) but XR might not have that problem.

Doesn't exist where I live, has been in a "shortage" for 6 years now. Only stimulant is Ritalin IR 10mg, or atomoxetine which is useless.

Combination with a NMDA antagonist like memantine or DXM helps, at least against the comedown and it also increases the duration somewhat. As an added bonus they keep tolerance down.

NAC is going to significantly blunt the dopaminergic euphoria from methylphenidate. Not sure if you're aware of that.

Interesting, did not know this.

Also, OP did not provide any details about the total daily dose of methylphenidate IR or how many times it's taken daily. Or even if it's actually prescribed or not. Plus, taking ADHD doses orally isn't supposed to cause eurphoria?

NAC blocks a lot of drugs, actually. It blocks a lot of the euphoria from opioids. Anything that effects dopamine.

NAC is neuroprotective of dopamine receptors, but whatever mechanism it does this with also blocks dopamine highs. It sort of acts like an atypical mood stabilizer and antipsychotic.
