Opioids Probability of an overdose by smoking?

I remember hearing many times that inhalation is the safest possible route to avoid an overdose but not sure how safe it might sound, been using heroin in the past by smoking it, and only there were two occasions in which I f**ked up on inhaling too much on a hit that passed out without remembering absolutely anything in the next few hours.
As far as I read there are a few reports of deaths attributed just by smoking it but obviously far less than the IV route, on the other hand the bioavailability of heroin is much more reduced on the lungs which makes more of a waste to use this route.
Despite all of that what I believe is that in fact it is possible to overdose either with pure stuff or dirty one but hypothetically you'd have to take a huge puff and hold it up long enough on purpose so your lungs could absorb a lethal amount, now if you think it twice as me that would create a paradoxical response cause you always would end up nodding or falling sleepy not being able to keep smoking until reaching a lethal dose, so how is it possible to overdose if you start nodding and cannot hold the straw and foil to keep taking more?

The odds are high. I would suggest a different ROA (route of administration), like snorting. Also be careful re your source and test for fentanyl every time, stay safe now :)

Heroin would not make an adult and healthy person to pass out, let alone to OD and die, from just one hit of the tooter.
If you are experiencie those blacks outs, you should be careful with the drugs that you are using

Very unlikely, the chances that is. I find it the best way to gage if you need more or not. Start with one small hit and see how you feel from there.

Plus first time I ever heard of someone passing out cold after one drag.

I think it's more likely if you're using something like Fentanyl or the other powerful Opioids out there on the street right now i.e. the "nitazenes". I've definitely heard of people of people overdosing via pulmonary inhalation - I'm shopping around new terms to refer to the act of smoking/vaping/hotrailing etc. under one umbrella. I think people get confused by stuff like for instance, referring to vaporization aka sublimation as "smoking" and so forth. I'm pretty sure that's the terminology used in medicine. Let me know what you guys think.

Anyway, it's definitely possible. It does happen. Still, I know you're far less likely to lethally overdose via pulmonary inhalation as opposed to intravenous/intranasal usage. I can only guess that a lot of the fatal overdoses are the classic case of relapsers/first-time users making a mistake.

Even if it's not likely for a habitual user, it's still better to be safe and test the substances you have for potency. The simple fact that these Opioids are almost microscopic in size means it's only a matter of time until someone makes a big fuckup on the cutting. It's not usually the best and brightest of the mathematical world involved with street level Fentanyl sales all the way up to the regional people. There is no skill in selling Fentanyl. There is no craft in it. There's really no business either. People who sold Heroin had to know their product, know where the Opium was gonna come from, arrange deals to buy the Opium, bring it across a continent to a lab where an expert chemist would turn it into pure Heroin, then import that Heroin and sell it. A Fentanyl kingpin could be a teenager who saved up his money working at Burger King, sent $2,000 to China and got enough Carfentanil to start a small empire. The Chinese even give him more then he ordered as a sign of goodwill. It doesn't matter. If they have the precursors, they can crank that stuff out for an eternity.

My point is that it's a highly disorganized system. Anything can happen. When you have people who aren't responsible handling this highly potent stuff, it's going to happen eventually, to someone.

Tonight I am the relapser snorting fentanyl for the first time in many years. You know, the ignorant irresponsible addict that you mention above? That guy, yeah that’s me. I really hope I don’t die from this. I only take kratom nowadays and suddenly I’m snorting limes of gray powder that the dealer called fent. If I don’t make it thru the night, tell my family I love them
