Prevalence of base methamphetamine in America

Hi all, I am from Australia, over here methamphetamine is probably the most widely used illicit drug behind cannabis and possibly ecstasy.
In Australia it comes in several common forms; a finely ground/crushed powder which is the cheapest and consistently lowest quality refered to as 'speed'or 'lui', crystals that are consistently the highest quality and most expensive meth preparation available refered to as 'ice' or 'shards' and finally we get a gluggy powder/goo refered to as 'gas' or 'base' that is usually injected because of the rush the impurities give.
I have never heard/read of Americans refer to base before and when going through the prices thread no Americans refer to the price of base although speed and ice are referred to. I am curious do you guys even get or use base in America? Is it common compared to other forms of meth use? How available is it relative to other methamphetamine preparations? Also why do you think it wouldn't be refered to much?
 
people in America don't really use the term 'base' to refer to meth, or any drug that isnt crack (ie, freebase cocaine). the term base doesn't really even make sense for methamphetamine or amphetamine as free base amphetamines exist as caustic oils. around where i live (california), theres two main terms for meth; "crystal" and "crank." crystal is high quality clear shards, whereas crank is usually low quality off colored powder. obviously crystal is preferred, but it is much more expensive. in other regions, the term "ice" is the only way its referred too.
 
is the goo yellowish? i saw a picture once of this yellowish goo and someone was wondering what it was.
 
Does anyone have any idea as to why this form of methamphetamine may not have picked up in America? Although it is likely the least popular form of methamphetamine over here it is still quite common.
Eckofire, to answer your question it CAN be pretty much any colour, it is certainly not the most pure product and its appearance varies considerably in colour and consistency. I have seen yellow base before.

Because it's some nasty shit and most areas where there's a demand for meth there's usually someone who knows how to cook up proper shards or there's a supply of it coming in.

My area hardly ever has "ice" or "shards" but it comes from the backwoods so its all powder stuff. comes in a wide range of colors, some on purpose others are just impurities.

in the south meth is everywhere. not my thing but we ussually have 5-6 bust a week with someone for precursors or manufacture or possession
 
^same here in oklahoma. seems like every day on the news or in the paper there is a story about a lab blowing up or getting busted. you can get decent ice from the mexicans but the way to go is to befriend an old school tweaker who knows how to cook. seems like everyone around here is cooking these days...guess that explains the high number of fires lol.
 
the goo sounds like it would be the bottom of the flask stuff...and not dry enough to snort....not dry enough to smoke.....(booty bumping?)

slamming you would think you would want a clean gear just not very much of it....not dirty gear ....i dont know...
looks like somewhere between amp and oil........wonder what synth was used really.....interesting

color depends on what chems used to make the mth. Seen yellow, light blue. Mostly clear shards in US. good stuff. just hard to come across. People get stupid and do not know what they are doing and end up w fed cases(x class felonies) Seen a few people go down in my days. Not something i could do everyday. Just thinking of what might be cut with and etc turns me off about the whole thing.
