I was with this girl we started off with a condom on but I took it off for about a minute then busted inside her. Im torn between thinking the short duration of unprotected sex has minimal risk or taking prep to be sure. I havent been able to find much info on the cost does anyone know? Anyone with experience doing a prep cycle following unprotected sex?
 
you don't cycle with PrEp you take it until you stop having high risk sex/exposure to HIV. It takes about 10 days to get 'into' your system and its not the morning after pill for HIV / AIDS exposure.

Depending on your location you may be able to get it on your insurance - failing that then there is help available to buy the stuff.

You should really be using a condom along with taking PrEP.

It's in the range of 10000 USD per year.

She took it off to suck me I got caught up in the moment and let her climb on top without putting another one on.

She said clean for sure but i have doubts. She does have very good job and is in very nice condo so not in the usual demographic of carriers but my anxiety is through the roof. Torn between doing PEP or praying for the best, Im extremely busy with work so its going to be hard to see a doctor in a timely manner.
 
WTF is PEP? Also in the future using a condom only to end up cumming inside her is not only useless for birth control but also in terms of preventing any STD's. It's kind of like taking your seat belt off when you think your safely home only to then get into a accident.
 
If she has HIV, chances are between 0.1-1.0 percent that you get infect3ed. Don't worry about it
 
PEP is post-exposure prophylaxis. It's a regiment of about a month long of pills you take following a possible exposure to HIV.

It's pretty expensive even with insurance, and it has some nasty side effects.

I was a nervous wreck all day today. She told me she was clean twice while I was with her yesterday but anyways my anxiety was still running rampant. I told her how how I was feeling, and she told me that she had a boyfriend for 3 years and had been tested 3 months ago. I asked her if she had unprotected sex with anyone following her test 3 months ago, and she replied "I'm never going to see you again" "Never". I didn't get clarification whether never reffered to unprotected sex since being tested or seeing me again. Then she's like "I don't want to be the source of your anxiety, Bye".
 
You need to start PEP within 72 hour of exposure (the sooner the better). If you had a cut or scratch etc then the briefest of exposure to HIV would put you at risk. What makes you suspect she has HIV?

If she told you she was negative why do you doubt her? If you stress this much, then you shouldn't have taken your condom off.

She was transsexual to me higher risk than biological women.

Like I said thought she has good career and lives in a very luxury condo so not entirely within the usual demographic of the disease.

Isn't it not just a cut or scratch but can also enter through the peehole? I didn't see any blood in her ass or on my penis but the next day I asked if she was sore and she said she bled.

Your stressing too much on this. I have to be honest here - I think your trolling. If you think you have been infected with HIV- you would have taken PEP two days ago.

Really now? I told you all the facts I literally posted this right after it happened. Initially I was worried but its hard for me to get over to a clinic considering I work 9-5 when most of them are open. Also it's pretty expensive and bad side effects which is why I inquired about it. I was going back and forth on making the decision but I think I will trust her. After I post this I texted her and she said she was negative as of 3 monthes ago and recently had the same bf for 3 years...I think she also said she hadn't been with another guy without protection since being tested. She got pissed I asked her again after she already told me she was clean twice. I just have rampant anxiety like recently my throat hurt and I was convinced I had throat cancer come to find out its acid reflux or if someone leaves a backpack unattended on the subway I worry its a bomb. So I've been trying to decide its been less than 48 hours so far and considering the texts from her im less worried about it.

Perhaps you should go see someone about that. Having some worries once in a while is normal but if you are worrying you have throat cancer because your throat hurt, thinking you got HIV, or you think people are leaving bombs around. If you have such rampant anxiety I can actually begin to understand why you believe some of the things you believe and have such dislike towards certain groups of people. You may be able to work on that and live a normal anxiety free life, wouldn't that be nice?

Living a life directed by your fears is no way to live at all.

Really now what ? Do I think your stressing too much = Yes. Do I think your trolling = Yes. If your not trolling - and your not stressing, you would have already signed up for PEP. Your stressing about this but your saying your work schedule stops you from going to a clinic. Err hello work - I'm not coming in today *insert reason* goto clinic.

I'm curious- how do you know about PEP but don't know what safe sex is?

Well when I posted this thread I was really stressing. Not exactly easy to take off work atm and then pay a thousand dollars and possibly have severe side effects for a month. In the end I'll trust her although I barely know her but I suppose if you live in a nice condo have a good career and tell me you just had a bf for 3 years I can believe when u say your clean. As im told thr chances are even if she have hiv I only have 1 in 100 shot of getting it but the fact she say she was bleeding made me worried. Also been burning to pee but I think its a uti rather than a std. I know safe sex and rarely fuck people I just met without condom but she was hot and in the heat of the moment I put in her for a minute or so raw then came. I've learned my lesson or least I hope so but its like drugs u withdrawal say u never do again then give in to temptation. Last time I got tested I couldn't sleep for a few days and was ecstatic when i heard negative saidI would never play with fire again

You can check my posting history / old posts- I'm being honest here. You feel that you got exposed to HIV - you came on here asking about PEP so the cost was in your budget. Its very easy to take a day off work - hello manager,not coming in today, why - dodgy food last night(etc). Your alr?eady too late to take PEP. Ask the mod to close the thread for you
