Hello fellow BLers,
a friend brought me a chemical purchase today and asked me to run reagent tests on it. We got some strange test results I'd appreciate hearing some feedback on. Pictures were not taken, I'll do my best to describe the reagent test results. Each test was run twice and we both took notes. The substance in question was supposed to be MDMA; it came in crystal form, was slightly yellow in color, slightly transparent, and with a strange odor, kind of like a mix between burnt rubber and cathinones (I'm very familiar with the smell of the latter).
Mecke: fizzed, immediately turned dark greenish brown, turning to dark reddish brown over the course of about two minutes and remained that color while we performed the second test
Marquis: fizzed, and I think I may have observed a puff of smoke, color turned reddish then changed to yellow very quickly and stayed that way
Mandelin: fizzed, turned dark green, then brown over a minute or so, settling on orange-red over the course of a few minutes
Simons: specks of blue appeared over the span of about ten seconds or so.
The mandelin reaction is unlike anything I've tested before, and the overall reactions don't seem to line up with anything on my handy dance-safe chart. After consulting the PMA & PMMA reagent test result threads, I'm hypothesizing that this product is likely adulterated methylone (I am aware that these tests are intended to rule out a chemical, not identify it). I've recommended that my friend scale down the dosages used with this chemical, and to stay hydrated. Has anyone seen results like these before? I'd appreciate any ideas.
