Opioids Possible dangers of daily high dose Lyrica and Tramadol?

Right now I'm currently prescribed 300mg of tramadol and 600mg Lyrica per day for my neuropathic pain. This is in addition to an astounding 0.5mg clonazepam daily for anxiety and such. Today I've had 500mg tramadol and 1800mg Lyrica already and it's only 1:30 PM. This week I've been reaching upwards of 800mg tramadol and 2100mg Lyrica daily because my tolerance is simply through the roof. I'm physically dependent on both of these substances and have been taking Lyrica every day for almost a year. The tramadol has been going on for about three months.

My doses starting rising steadily last month when my Dilaudid dealer got robbed and all sorts of stressors have been appearing in my life. My outlet was and still is drugs. I'm just worried that these doses are going to give me a seizure or kill my kidneys or something. To be honest, I'm kind of surprised I haven't seized already. 600mg used to make me twitch like crazy and now it doesn't even get me that high. Anyway, could someone please tell me what I should be worried about and if I should consider tapering back down to a safer level? Thanks.

Lyrica and Gabapentin are great. I avoided tramadol because I'm on wellbutrin which also increases seizure risk. It also may contradict SSRIs. If you want to, definitely taper off, this isn't a good combo to stop cold turkey. Get yourself checked up more often (monthly for a few months at least) to determine kidney/liver function. I didn't even know people dose Lyrica at 2100mg. I was taking 3600 mg of Gabapentin and loved it. It just feels clean and pure when compared to downers and uppers full of cut at high prices.

I am one who loves lyrica. I will et grams of it a day when I get my script (4-6 grams) and then go about without it. We are both in danger of renal problems. Doctors don't even know how lyrica works. We could possibly be treading in deep water here. If I were to taper anything, in your case it would be the tramadol, as we all know the health problems with taking such heroic doses.

Those are some massive doses Oo I higly recommend to taper both down and/or talk to your doctor to switch you over to a more potent opioid without the dangerous side-effects Tramadol has. Although I don't know if this is possible or even indicated for neuropathic pain...
Two grams of Lyrica is pretty insane. And nearly one gram of Tramadol...man. I personally would try to switch over to Subutex and reduce the Lyrica to normal doses again or you could be in serious trouble soon.

Good luck.
