i was just wondering if its possible for someone whos allergic to penicillin to have a possible allergic reaction to shrooms.

or for that matter for a first timer taking shrooms if theres a possibilty that they could have an allergic reaction to the shrooms themselves.

any advice would be appreciated on the matter and thanks in advance to anyone with some info thanks again.

Allergic reactions are highly specific. Psilocybe mushrooms don't make anything that resembles penicillin but even if they did, it probably wouldn't cause a reaction as often times people with allergies to penicillin are not allergic to other beta-lactam antibiotics despite the very similar structure.

You're in the clear.

Hope that helps.

Are you allergic to any other (legal) mushrooms? If so I would steer clear to play it on the safe side.

Mushrooms are unusual in that some people can eat and enjoy a mushroom, but that same mushroom can make someone else very ill. It all depends on you personal system.

It is possible to have an allergic reaction to virtually anything - just something to keep in mind.

You can always try one small mushroom and see how you feel. If you feel okay, try a little more in a few days. Continue this process until you experience any sort of allergic reaction or have reached the dosage level you desire.

When in doubt don't do it.

alright guys thanks alot, i just have one more question justb to be on the safe side im not sure if this would really matter but would taking birth control while tripping have any negative reactions?

i woudnt see why it wouold but id like to ask just to be on the safe side.

Yeah it should be fine, the only thing to look out for would be another fungus growing on the mushrooms so make sure they are not spoiled or moldy. Though that is a wise thing to do even for someone without any known allergies.
And even if they were moldy and bad, the chance is much higher that you would just get sick from it in general than that you'd get an allergic reaction / anaphylaxis or what have you not.

To go without any risk of such a thing happening, as in zero - don't take anything, period. But IMO you needn't worry, realistically.

i busted one in my gf who was on BC during a mushroom trip and she didn't end up pregnant, if thats what you mean by ok to be on BC.
lol you should be fine.
