Question: When should I cut my poppies to hang and dry? Is it best to let them go for awhile after they lose their petals (I'm going to leave a few to self-sow). They're anywhere from 5-14 days since they've lost their petals and all different sizes (none smaller 2" across but none are huge, either).
I know I should keep them out of the sun when they're drying but will the alkaloids break down if I leave them to grow for too long?
This is my first harvest, so any insight and advice you can give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
