Poppers

Can someone remind me what the chemical name is for the main ingredient in Poppers.
I found a site that had two different kinds, the chemicals listed for one is 'cyclohexyl nitrite' and the other one listed 'ethyl chloride'. Which is the best.

i was wondering about poppers too , i used to buy it in sex shops in England , it came in little bottles, the amyl nitrate here in the states comes in vials that you snap or "pop".... is it the same shit?

romancat, what do you mean a vial that you "pop"? Here in the US they just come in a little vial with a lid that you unscrew and inhale the fumes. Pretty simple.
Maybe they come in a different form than I've seen, but what you get here is what I mentioned above.

greenhaze: some of my friends where cracking this little glass cilindrical containers and then inhaling the vapors. They offered me some saying it was amyl nitrate, I stopped doing poppers more than 10 years ago (never liked it much) so I didn't do any, hence my not knowing if it was the same stuff that is sold in england (I don't know what's the chemical in the english poppers). By the way I did a bit of research and you might want to check this link (read the last post) inhalants .

The vials that you crack are like the original poppers, as used to treat angina etc. Stuff sold in sex shops is often not real amyl nitrate, but it still does the trick.

What about stuff like 'Maximum Impact' and 'BlackJack'. Anyone ever tried those and are they the same as the amyl nitrite products?

Maximum Impact is Ethyl Chloride, an anesthetic. It is NOT the same as poppers which gives you a head rush.
To answer the original question, if it comes in a little glass bottle and denoted as VCR head cleaner, etc. it is poppers. Anything in a spray can is quite different.
